Job Description This position interacts with client families, both via phone, email, and in person, as well as bookkeeping for the cemetery. This position provides administrative support to families, fellow office staff, and Cemetery Grounds personnel, and must be courteous, professional, and helpful. 30 hours per week. Hours for the position are from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday Responsibilities • Complete clerical duties by maintaining records; entering data into the computer; ensuring forms and documents are completed and accurate; filing of customer folders & cards; completing further research as needed; processing various forms and documents; preparing various reports., • Book funerals with funeral homes and groundskeeping staff., • Generate Owner Burial Certificates, • Process permits for monument foundations and inscriptions, • Record vendor payments, • Perform accounting functions including bank reconciliations, vendor payments & collecting & posting payments in QuickBooks, • Generate maps for customers as per the location of the Grave/Lot, • Previous experience using QuickBooks is required, • Experience using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) is required, • Knowledge of cemetery software (Access) is a plus, • Strong attention to detail and integrity, • Reliable, organized, and deadline-focusedCompany DescriptionThe impressive iron gates at the main entrance to the cemetery were constructed in 1867. In 1871 plans were drawn to build a chapel and residence for the overseer - these buildings, having been annexed over time, now stand to the left of the gates. In 1896 a toll bell, that traditionally tolled when a funeral entered, was added to the residence.
