Job DescriptionRole Summary We are seeking a skilled Laptop/Desktop Administrator (L2) with hands-on experience supporting Windows and Linux environments. This role focuses on end-user support, system administration, asset management, and close collaboration with business and engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-quality IT solutions. Key Responsibilities • Provide Level 2 support for Windows and Linux desktops and laptops, resolving hardware and software issues, • Troubleshoot incidents related to desktops, laptops, peripherals, and endpoint devices, • Install, configure, and deploy desktops and laptops using standard corporate images, • Perform OS installation/reinstallation, upgrades, and patching for Windows and Linux systems, • Install and configure software applications based on business and engineering requirements, • Support hardware and software procurement, including vendor coordination and recommendations, • Manage on-site asset management, including inventory tracking, lifecycle management, and disposal, • Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs for endpoint devices, • Monitor, update, and resolve IT service requests and incidents within defined SLAs, • Support daily IT operations, including desktop support, basic network troubleshooting, and server-related tasks, • Perform Linux installation, configuration, and troubleshooting activities, • Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutionsRequired Skills & Experience, • Strong experience supporting Windows and Linux environments (L2 level), • Hands-on experience troubleshooting desktop and laptop hardware, • Experience with OS imaging, patching, and endpoint management tools, • Knowledge of IT asset management and inventory systems, • Basic understanding of networking concepts and server environments, • Strong documentation and ticket-handling skills, • Mounting and unmounting file systems, • Patching and upgrading Red Hat Linux servers, • Troubleshooting access to shared resources (NFS, Samba), • Adding and extending storage using LVM, • Creating and managing user accounts (local and Active Directory), • Experience troubleshooting network connectivity and working with switches, • Exposure to VMware and virtualization concepts in day-to-day supportWork Environment, • 5 days onsite at a New York-based office, • Mixed Windows and Red Hat Linux environment Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
