We’re looking for a Human Resources Consultant 3 (HRC3) — an experienced and solutions-oriented HR generalist — to join our Human Resources team. This role supports leaders and employees across the agency and provides high-level guidance focused mainly on administering protected leaves and reasonable accommodations. This role will also be required to provide back-up senior level consulting on other HR related disciplines including compensation and classification, performance management and labor relations. The monthly salary range for this position is $5,666 - $7,622. The duties of the position include, but are not limited to: • Administer protected leave programs, including FMLA, PFML, Shared Leave, Parental Leave, and Pregnancy Disability Leave, ensuring compliance with laws, policies, and CBAs., • Review leave requests and medical documentation; determine eligibility and issue timely decisions., • Provide guidance to employees, supervisors, and HR staff on leave options, rights, and responsibilities., • Prepare and send required notices, forms, and correspondence in accordance with legal timelines., • Maintain confidential leave records, calculate eligibility, and generate reports as needed., • Interpret and apply employment laws, agency policy, and labor agreements related to leave., • Recommend updates to leave-related policies and procedures., • Coordinate the agency’s Reasonable Accommodation process under ADA, RCW 49.60, and other regulations., • Facilitate the interactive process between employees and supervisors; identify and implement accommodation solutions., • Review medical documentation and draft related correspondence, including separation notices when appropriate., • Advise management and staff on accommodation procedures, options, and responsibilities., • Recommend process improvements and present solutions to leadership., • Provide senior-level HR support on complex matters such as classification, compensation, performance management, and employee relations., • Review position descriptions and advise on salary decisions and policy interpretation., • Support employee development, corrective action, and personnel investigations as assigned., • Assist with special projects, research, and general HR tasks as directed by the HR Director. Required Qualifications: • Six (6) years of professional full-time broad-based senior consultant HR experience*, including advising and consulting on a variety of human resource issues, to include providing interpretation of HR related rules, laws, collective bargaining agreements and policies and procedures. Experience may include a combination of the following: labor relations; employee relations; performance management; organizational and employee development; recruitment and selection, classification and compensation; and FMLA / reasonable accommodation., • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office Products (e.g. Word, Excel, and Outlook). Academic Degree Equivalency Chart Degree Years of Relevant Experience Equivalency Associate’s Degree 2 years of experience Bachelor’s Degree 4 years of experience Master’s Degree 5 years of?experience *A degree in business, human resources, social or organizational behavioral sciences or related field from an accredited institution whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council of Higher Education Accreditation or a foreign equivalent may be substituted for relevant experience. Proof of degree may be required prior to employment. If a degree was awarded outside of the United States, candidates must provide a credential evaluation report.
