Job Description Controller | Retail & Consumer Goods | Plainview, NY (On-site) Are you a hands-on financial leader who loves building smarter systems, simplifying complexity, and helping a business make data-driven decisions? What You’ll Do • Own the accuracy and integrity of all financial reporting — ensuring reconciliations, projections, and analyses are rock solid., • Review and validate work from offshore accounting resources, addressing any discrepancies and ensuring compliance across AP, AR, and GL functions., • Partner closely with the CFO to drive big-picture decisions through reliable, actionable insights., • Lead process improvement initiatives — streamline workflows, automate tasks, and implement smarter systems., • Oversee financial statements, payroll, and union-related accounting., • Bring clarity to complexity using your deep understanding of a 4-4-5 calendar and 13-week rolling averages. What You Bring • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role (Controller, Director, or Senior Manager)., • A proven track record of managing and developing small accounting teams (3–5 people)., • Expertise in Excel, BI tools (Kognos, etc.), and ideally Oracle., • Experience in retail or manufacturing environments — you understand the rhythm, margins, and operational nuances., • A proactive, resourceful, and highly communicative working style — you don’t wait for direction; you make things happen., • A degree in Accounting (CPA preferred). Compensation • Salary Range: $110,000 – $160,000 (commensurate with experience), • Benefits: Competitive package provided during the interview process Location & Schedule This is a full-time, on-site role based in Plainview, NY. Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
