Job DescriptionThe Whitney’s Academic Year Internship program offers a semester-long paid internship for undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in an accredited academic program. The internship is hybrid, with some onsite work. For Spring 2026, interns commit between 16–21 hours per week over 10–12 weeks for a total of 200 hours. Job Description Groomers: You will be expected to complete 5-8 dogs per day, depending on size, coat condition and temperament. This include prep, bathing i(if bather is not available) and grooming. Experience with breed cuts please. We groom them all so you must be comfortable with all breeds and sizes including bully breeds. And while it goes without saying, I’m gonna say it anyway: you must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift at least 50 lbs. You must provide your own tool kit, maintain your equipment and work station, help with clean-up at the end of day, and generally help when help is needed, i.e. hold a dog for another groomer, clean up a dog mess even if it wasn’t your dog, etc. Bathers: Experienced bathers will fully prep dog before groom. This includes paw shaving, nail trimming/dremeling, ear hair plucking and bathing with attention to coat type and condition. Job Description General Summary We are seeking a maintenance worker to assist the superintendent in maintaining the physical integrity of the property. This involves insuring a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors and staff. The maintenance worker will carry out assigned duties in a safe manner and other duties as requested by the Superintendent. Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities: A building maintenance worker must possess a variety of skills encompassing most of the construction trades, handling that require basic skills as an electrician, carpenter, plumber, mechanic, painter, HVAC technician and roofer, as well as be able to perform all the responsibilities of a porter, should the situation warrant. The building maintenance worker must always remain aware of their limitations and request the services of a professional when the worker’s lack of expertise requires it.
