Hotel Algorfa are looking for an experienced Head Chef with a proven track record of devising and delivering exceptional meals, at volume, to create a unique dining experience for our customers. As the Head Chef at Hotel Algorfa you will be responsible for devising menus, preparing high quality meals, ordering and preparing ingredients and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and health & safety. The chef will take full ownership of the kitchen, including providing leadership and training to kitchen staff and delegating tasks as appropriate. Responsible for the smooth running of the kitchen for a restaurant that can seat up to 150 people, the key to success in the role of Head Chef is ensuring efficiency so that quality is never compromised.
Key Responsibilities:
Creating enticing weekly menus, including starters, mains and desserts
Preparing meals to the highest quality and ensuring they are delivered to customers in a timely manner
Managing kitchen staff, whilst fostering a collaborative environment and maximising teamwork
Sourcing and ordering quality ingredients, ensuring good stock rotation for maximum freshness
Responsible for all regulatory requirements including the correct labelling of allergens, ensuring the highest levels of hygiene, food safety and health & safety
Maintaining kitchen equipment and advising management of new equipment required
Responsible for the smooth and orderly running of the kitchen, ensuring customers receive the highest quality meals in a timely manner
Analysing customer preferences and ‘best selling’ dishes to ensure menus meet our customers’ expectations
Skills and Experience:
A proven track record of delivering quality meals at volume
Strong leadership experience with the ability to build successful teams
Knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements
The ability to create enticing menus and comfortable with creating new dishes
Proactively seek feedback and adjust dishes accordingly
