Position: Catering Assistants (Temp to Perm) Location: University in Waterloo Pay Rate: £13.15 per hour About the Role: We are seeking enthusiastic and flexible Catering Assistants to join our team at a leading university in Waterloo. This is a temp-to-perm position, offering a fantastic pathway to a permanent role for the right candidates. As a Catering Assistant, you will be working in multiple capacities, including as a Barista, front of house server, and general assistant across all departments. Your role will be crucial in ensuring our catering services run smoothly and our customers have an exceptional experience. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and serve beverages as a Barista. - Provide excellent front of house service to students, faculty, and visitors. - Assist with general duties in the kitchen and dining areas. - Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. - Ensure compliance with food safety and health safety regulations. - Work collaboratively with the catering team to deliver outstanding service. Requirements: - Flexibility in working hours, including availability to work 5 days over 7 and some evenings. - Solid knowledge of food safety and health safety practices. - Excellent communication skills and a bubbly, proactive attitude. - Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. - Strong team player with a positive, can-do approach. Location: SAMS, Oban Contract Type: Permanent Working Pattern: Full Time (37 hours per week) Salary Range: £23,144 - £25,138 per annum Closing date: Friday 24th May 2024 The Role: This is a varied role, where you will be working with senior colleagues to deliver specific administrative tasks, efficiently, and to a high standard. For your own portfolio of responsibility, (e.g. room allocation, tenant administration, etc.) you will deal with colleagues, students and external organisations. When providing support in Reception, you will be the first point of contact for many staff, students and visitors with a wide variety of enquiries. Our Ideal Candidate: Our ideal candidate, is someone who already has experience in administration roles, is organised, flexible, can successfully prioritise their workload, and has a clear ‘customer support’ approach. You will be required to behave diplomatically and occasionally assertively, according to the tasks at hand. As a member of our Reception team, you will present a smart, professional, ‘can do’ attitude, even when under pressure from competing tasks.
