Experience of managing a portfolio of clients including control of client take on and engagement, billings, and identification of opportunities to improve recoveries, together with cash collection. Ability to provide Corporation Tax Compliance and Advisory services to a wide range of clients using resource from a shared service team or via technology tools. An active interest in developing the team, both technically and commercially, through effective delegation and acting as a role model. An understanding of potential risks to the Firm in relation to the Firm’s quality control procedures. Experience of leading complex projects and dealing with complex tax issues. Educated to degree level and/or CTA and/or ACA qualified or equivalent. An experienced Project Architect is required to join an established, design-led architectural practice in Central Birmingham. The business employs close to 100 people across 3 offices in the UK, with the Birmingham head office forming the largest studio. Our client run under an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) structure, allowing successful candidate to have more control, influence and understanding of the business as well as future profit-share opportunity following qualifying service. Following significant growth over recent years, the practice is looking to strengthen their architectural team with an experienced Project Architect who can take responsibility for project delivery and work closely with the Associate Directors and Architectural Directors. The practice has an excellent pipeline of Education projects. Current work includes numerous major DfE school developments, alongside substantial Higher Education schemes including university laboratories, medical schools and teaching facilities with individual project values reaching £150m. Band 8a Capital Accountant NHS Trust | Permanent | Band 8a An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Capital Accountant to join a busy and forward-thinking NHS finance team. This is a key role within the organisation, supporting the delivery of a substantial capital programme while ensuring the highest standards of financial control, reporting and compliance. Working closely with senior finance colleagues, operational managers and capital project teams, you will take ownership of the Trust's capital accounting processes and provide expert financial support across a diverse portfolio of capital investment projects. Key Responsibilities Fixed Asset Register Management Maintain the Trust's Fixed Asset Register, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance. Process capital additions, disposals, transfers and revaluations. Ensure assets are appropriately classified and accounted for in line with relevant accounting standards. Capital Reporting & Month-End Lead monthly capital accounting and reporting activities. Produce capital expenditure reports, forecasts and variance analysis. Support budget holders and project managers with financial information and advice relating to capital schemes. Year-End Capital Accounting Deliver year-end capital accounting requirements and statutory disclosures. Prepare working papers and supporting analysis for annual accounts. Support internal and external audit processes and respond to audit queries. IFRS Compliance Ensure compliance with IFRS and NHS financial reporting requirements. Provide technical accounting advice on capital expenditure, asset accounting and related transactions. Controls, Assurance & Reconciliation Maintain strong financial controls across capital accounting processes. Complete balance sheet reconciliations and asset-related control accounts. Support assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives. Supporting Capital Programmes Provide financial support to capital projects from approval through to completion. Monitor capital expenditure against approved plans and funding allocations. Work collaboratively with project teams to support the successful delivery of capital investments. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Experience of capital accounting, fixed asset management and financial reporting. Strong reconciliation, analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of IFRS and accounting standards relating to fixed assets and capital expenditure. The ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Experience working within a large, complex organisation, ideally within the public sector or NHS. Qualifications CCAB/CIMA qualified accountant desirable. However, candidates who are part-qualified or qualified by experience with relevant capital accounting expertise will also be considered
