Job Summary At Smart Start Academy Teachers are responsible for managing the classroom from top down. From setting curriculum to delegating to assistants, your role will be to ensure that lesson plans, activities, and child care progress smoothly and effectively. Job timings: Around 7:30 AM-6:30 PM, contingent on schools requirements. Responsibilities: Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. Should be able to meet physical requirements of the position, which include lifting children, and sitting on the floor. Meeting the individual needs of the children including feeding and diapering. Observe and track children’s development and prepare progress reports. Communicate effectively with parents, providing daily updates and fostering positive relationships. Responsible to train new staff within classroom. Stimulates emotional, intellectual, and social growth of students by developing lesson plan and directing educational programs and activities tailored to assigned class; supervising the class. Must be able to attend the staff meetings and professional development sessions. Job Summary The Classroom Assistant serves as a co-pilot to the Teacher and Teacher Assistant. They are in charge of keeping bulletin boards up to date, training all new assistants, and assisting with certain aspects of the lesson plan. Qualifications and Skills: As an entry-level position, the ideal candidate for this position will have their High School Diploma or GED, flexibility for scheduling purposes, great written and verbal communication skills, and a passion for helping children unlock their true potential. Experience at a licensed childcare center is preferred but not required. We will train the right person. Must be able to pass a background check !! Must be able to relate well to parents, children, and other staff members. Must communicate effectively, have an energetic personality, and be functionally literate in English. Full job description We have been providing training classes since 1995, We have four locations Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island. We are seeking a bilingual nursing instructor certified in PCA/HHA Instruction in both English and Spanish. Nursing instructor must have certification from the D.O.E for both PCA/HHA in both languages. Nursing instructor must produce a valid New York State nursing license and registration. Young Judaea Sprout Brooklyn Day Camp, located in Red Hook, is a Hebrew dual-language camp for children entering Pre-K through 5th grade. No previous Hebrew experience is necessary to be part of the Sprout Brooklyn community. Sprout Brooklyn is a place where children from a wide spectrum of backgrounds join together to create a joyful, diverse community built on Jewish values, a connection to Israel and the Hebrew language. All of our Activity Specialists build their own informal Jewish education curricula based on Jewish values and creating a connection to Israel. They teach daily 30 minute lessons to campers entering Pre-K through entering 5th grade. Sprout Brooklyn values staff that are positive and flexible team players who are excited to spend the summer with young campers and staff. The ideal candidate is excited about camp life and feels comfortable wearing multiple hats and will never say that a task “isn’t their job”. Responsibilities Work with the Program Director to create weekly lesson plans Create and execute fun, age-appropriate activities Engage campers and help them develop new skills Run 30 minute lessons daily with groups of 12-14 campers Incorporate Jewish values, Hebrew and/or Israel education into activities whenever possible (assistance is provided if you do not have experience in this area) We are currently seeking specialists in the following areas: Music, Sports, Robotics, Yoga, Art, Dance, Hebrew, Martial Arts, Nature, Swim/Lifeguarding Requirements At least 18 years old Experience working with children ages 3-10 At least 2 years’ experience teaching specialty activity to children Experience attending or working at a summer camp (preferred, not required) Enthusiasm and the willingness to be silly Hebrew fluency is a plus (preferred, not required) Camp runs Monday - Friday from June 24 – August 16 with a week of staff training from June 17, 18, 20 & 23.
