Full Job Description Our Story For the last twenty years, The Baseball Center NYC’s management team and coaching staff has worked diligently to create a positive environment where players of all ages and skill sets can learn to achieve success both on and off the playing field. The Baseball Center NYC’s mission is quite simply to create quality recreational, travel ball and high school baseball players. We approach our time with each individual and team with well-constructed practice plans and a constant belief in our players as they learn to believe in themselves. We expect our staff to be on-time, meticulously prepared and set the example of what ballplayers need to do in order to succeed. Description of Position | TBCNYC Instructor & Coach Provide private, group and/or team baseball instruction (in facility, on-field, virtually) in a manner aligned with TBCNYC’s mission, approach and business strategy. Assist or lead activities required to maintain TBCNYC’s facility. Not limited to keeping coaches lounge clean, training cage set-up and clean-up, pro-shop sales and inventory control. Adhere to TBCNYC schedules, being prompt and prepared for each practice, game, lesson and/or camp. Both Saturday and Sunday shifts are necessary for this position. Current proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word). Serve as a member of the front desk team, scheduling sessions, client interfacing and utilization of TBCNYC's POS system (Square). Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferred. Experience: Two plus years of coaching experience for recreational, travel or middle school / high school baseball. Direct Reports: None. Key working Relationships TBCNYC Asst. Manager, Programs & Leagues: (Weekly) Review TBCNYC's Rising Stars Academy and/or Outdoor League(s) assignments. TBCNYC Head Coach: (Weekly) Set-up private lesson schedule and review practice plans. TBCNYC Client Coordinators (aka front desk): (Daily) Review daily schedules and any pertinent notes regarding an instructor’s lesson / program schedule. TBCNYC Coaching Staff (Daily) On-going discussion regarding team practices, game plans and private lessons. Work Guidance Managing Director: Strategic direction and performance management.
About the Company: Education Through Music is a non-profit organization that partners with New York City Public Schools to place music teachers and programs back into school’s curricula. We are unique from other arts nonprofits in that we provide a bridge for teachers who are not certified to teach in public schools, build their program, and eventually be hired by a public school for the DOE. ETM has great reach in that we serve all five boroughs, we have partnerships with 50 public schools and provide music education to over 18,000 children. Music is a part of a well rounded education; it is essential for students' social and emotional well being and a critical tool for establishing equity and success. We are looking for teachers who are passionate about music and making a difference in their communities. Responsibilities: - Serving as school music faculty - Coordinating and developing the in-school music program with program staff - Producing two school-wide concerts each year - Attending and assisting in school wide functions such as assemblies, graduation, after school activities - Comprehensive scope and sequencing of lesson planning - Reflect, implement, and improve upon existing processes Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in a Music/Arts or Related Field - 1-3 years of teaching groups of up to 30 children - Ability to model quality singing in front of children - Sound musical knowledge - Knowledge of musical pedagogy practices Preferred Qualifications: - Master’s in Music Education or Related Field - Certified to teach in the state of New York or in any other state - 3-5 years of experience teaching in New York City Public Schools - Singing, conducting, keyboard, guitar and presentation skills are all pluses - Prior experience in teaching Band, Orchestra, Modern Band and Choir - Comfortability with Music Technology Software such as Soundtrap

The Butcher will perform quality inspections, use meat grinders, knives, saws, and other tools to cut meat down into smaller portions, weigh, price, and package cuts, and ensure that displays and signage are attractive and eye-catching. You will also speak to customers to determine their needs, provide advice regarding proper cuts of meat and preparation methods, and coordinate pickups or deliveries. To succeed as a Butcher, you should be courteous, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented. You should have excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of meat quality, cuts, and preparation. Butcher Responsibilities: Cutting, grinding and preparing meats for sale. Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment and ensuring displays and signage are accurate and attractive. Weighing, packaging, pricing, and displaying products. Keeping records, budgets, and inventory. Performing quality inspections on meats and other products. Negotiating and confirming orders with suppliers. Adhering to food safety and sanitation controls. Greeting and speaking to customers, providing advice, answering questions, and accepting orders or payments. Coordinating deliveries or order pickups. Butcher Requirements: Education or food preparation or meat cutting experience. Ability to use hand tools, stand or walk for extending periods, lift heavy items, and work in cold environments. Additional training is often required. Knowledge of meat preparation techniques and cuts. Strong communication, task management, and customer service skills.
