SUMI is seeking a talented and experienced Sushi Chef to join its professional kitchen team. The successful candidate will be passionate about sushi and Japanese-inspired cuisine, with excellent knife skills, a strong understanding of sushi preparation, and a keen eye for presentation. Responsibilities • Prepare sushi, nigiri, maki, and other Japanese-inspired dishes to high standards., • Prepare and season sushi rice consistently., • Prepare fresh vegetables, fruits, cooked ingredients, sauces, and other service components., • Create beautifully presented dishes with precision and attention to detail., • Follow kosher kitchen standards, food safety, hygiene, and storage procedures., • Maintain a clean, organised, and professional workstation., • Work efficiently and calmly during busy service periods., • Communicate and collaborate effectively with the kitchen team., • Assist with the preparation and development of new dishes and presentations., • Help maintain consistency and quality across every service. Requirements • Previous professional experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role., • Strong knowledge of sushi preparation and Japanese-inspired cuisine., • Excellent knife skills and attention to detail., • Passion for quality, creativity, and presentation., • Experience working in a fast-paced professional kitchen., • Ability to follow kosher kitchen procedures and standards., • A professional, reliable, and organised approach., • Ability to work well as part of a team., • Creativity and a willingness to learn and develop.
