JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are seeking to incorporate laboratory technician with experience in molecular biology research projects, preferably in the field of neuromuscular diseases, to join the DM1-Hub project within the Neuromuscular Research Group of Badalona (GRENBA) at IGTP.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES- Receive, register, and organize biological samples from the hospitals participating in the DM1-Hub project, ensuring compliance with established procedures and quality requirements.- Classify, process, and store blood samples and derivatives under appropriate conservation conditions, maintaining accurate records and sample traceability.- Independently perform laboratory procedures for the extraction of high molecular weight DNA following established protocols.- Prepare genetic material and conduct quality control assessments for long-read sequencing applications, identifying and reporting potential issues when required.- Carry out DNA extraction, quantification, validation, and related sample processing activities with a high degree of autonomy and under the scientific guidance of the responsible researcher.- Contribute to the evaluation and optimization of laboratory workflows and participate in the analysis and documentation of experimental results.- Prepare technical records, laboratory documentation, and reports, ensuring compliance with quality standards and traceability requirements.- Maintain and update databases associated with sample reception, processing, storage, and tracking.- Contribute to the preparation of technical documents, internal reports, and experimental procedures.- Participate actively in project meetings, training activities, and scientific events relevant to the project.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCIE- Degree in a discipline related to the health sciences.- High level of spoken and written English.- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.- At least 1 year of previous experience in molecular biology research projects.- Previous experience in handling blood samples and in basic molecular biology techniques (nucleic acid extraction, PCR, etc.).- Previous experience in long-read sequencing technologies (e.G., Oxford Nanopore, PacBio) will be highly valued.- An organized, proactive, enthusiastic, self-motivated person with strong teamwork skills.WHAT WE OFFER- Temporary contract until December 31st, 2026.- Full-time.- Starting date: October 5th, 2026.- The gross annual salary will be on the range of 22.000-23.000 €, distributed over 12 payments.- 23 working days of annual leave and 5 personal days.- Training sessions covered by the institution.- The opportunity to join an excellent multidisciplinary research center awarded the HRS4R distinction.- Workplace located at Campus Can Ruti, a top-tier translational research environment in the Barcelona area, offering a stimulating scientific setting and a friendly, collaborative ecosystem to support professional growth and research goals.FOR MORE INFORMATION- www.Dm1spain.Com- www.Germanstrias.Org/en/research/neuroscience/5/group-of-research-in-neuromuscular-diseases-from-badalona-grenba- https://orcid.Org/0000-0002-7414-212X- https://pubmed.Ncbi.Nlm.Nih.Gov/?term=nogales-gadea+g&sort=dateDEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONSThe call for applications will close on September 26th, 2026.#J-18808-Ljbffr
