POSITION OVERVIEW As part of the PICs@ICFO Strategic Initiative, ICFO coordinates PIXEurope, a flagship Pilot Line funded under the European Chips JU program. With €400 million in investments and a consortium of 20 partners across 11 countries, the project aims to reinforce Europe's strategic autonomy in photonic technologies and accelerate industrial uptake of cutting-edge integrated photonics. Over the next decade, PIXEurope will enable the transfer of advanced technologies to manufacturing environments, while fostering innovation and scalability across the European photonics ecosystem. We are seeking a Financial Project Manager to join our team and play a key role in the strategic initiative PICs@ICFO. The selected candidate will ensure effective financial management of research projects, including economic monitoring and accurate financial reporting in compliance with applicable funding regulations and ICFO’s internal policies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Overseeing the economic monitoring of the projects that make up the PICs strategic initiative, ensuring their financial sustainability and compliance., • Providing financial guidance to Pilot line Director assisting him in the economic management of their projects., • Preparing financial reports and economic justifications in compliance with applicable regulations and ICFO policies. Ensuring the timely and accurate submission., • Planning and preparing internal and external audits., • Collaborating with the scientific reporting team to align financial and research related aspects of projects. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED • A university degree in Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline., • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in financial management of competitive funding for research projects., • Strong knowledge of EU and national funding mechanisms, particularly those with complex co-funding structures., • Expertise in project audit management, ensuring compliance with financial regulations. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken)., • Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills, with a service-oriented mindset., • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines autonomously., • Proven capacity to navigate multi-stakeholder environments with efficiency and clarity.
