About the Role 💻👩‍💻 We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our legal team based in Tenerife, Canary Islands. In this role, you will provide strategic and practical legal support across all areas of the business, with a focus on technology-related matters, commercial agreements, compliance, data protection, and risk management. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, sales, recruiting, and finance to ensure business objectives are met while minimizing legal risk. Key Responsibilities 🛠️ · Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including SaaS agreements, licensing, partnership agreements, vendor and procurement contracts. · Provide day-to-day legal support across departments, advising on a variety of operational and strategic legal issues. · Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including data privacy (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), IP, employment, consumer protection, and emerging tech regulations. · Support product development by identifying legal risks and working with product teams to address compliance needs from early design through launch. · Develop and maintain internal legal templates, policies, and training programs. · Manage external counsel when needed and coordinate specialized legal support. · Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the tech industry and advise stakeholders accordingly. · Assist with corporate governance, M&A, and other strategic transactions as needed. Skills 🛠️ · Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills, particularly in a tech/SaaS environment. · Sound judgment and the ability to balance legal risk with business priorities. · Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. · Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. · Collaborative mindset with a practical, solutions-oriented approach.
