We are currently looking for a Senior Researcher Energy Storage & Data Science: As a Senior Researcher in our energy storage group, you will play a key role in leading research and innovation activities within national and Horizon Europe (HE) projects. Your work will focus on advancing methodologies for battery testing, data analysis, and digital tools for energy storage applications. You will drive collaboration with academic, industrial, and institutional partners, while providing technical leadership and guidance to project teams. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to shaping the future of sustainable energy through cutting-edge European projects, while mentoring junior colleagues and strengthening our research capabilities. Key Responsibilities: • Lead research tasks in national and European projects related to battery testing, modeling, and energy storage system optimization., • Guide the development and application of digital tools, AI/ML models, and advanced data analysis methodologies for energy storage research., • Coordinate project deliverables, ensuring quality, and timely completion., • Act as a key technical contact with external project partners, representing the organization in European consortia and research networks., • Contribute to the preparation of proposals for competitive funding calls and support strategic project acquisition., • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior researchers and engineers., • Disseminate research outcomes through publications, presentations, and stakeholder engagement. What do we expect from you? Qualifications: • Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Data Science or a related field., • Demonstrated experience (3+ years) in R&D, particularly within national or European-funded projects., • Coding and data science expertise (Python, C++, MATLAB), with applied knowledge of AI/ML., • Experience in digitalization and advanced analytics for energy systems is a plus., • Strong track record in research outputs (e.g., publications, conference contributions, patents)., • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within multicultural and multidisciplinary teams. Fluent in Spanish and English, oral and written. You will succeed in this position if you bring: • Experience in data science, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics., • Strong proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB for data processing, AI, and ML modeling., • Knowledge of battery SOH modeling, failure prediction, or degradation analysis is a plus (but not required)., • Strong analytical mindset and ability to work with cross-functional teams., • Familiar with statistical methods and experimental design principles., • Excellent communication and collaboration skills., • Basic knowledge of battery chemistry, mainly at the cell level, is highly recommended., • Ability and motivation to learn battery characterization skills, with a willingness to acquire these skills at our center.
