We are seeking a Senior Procurement Engineer specializing in PV Utility-Scale Steel Structures (Fixed & Trackers). In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex engineering requirements and strategic supply chain execution. You will hold end-to-end ownership of the sourcing process, ensuring our large-scale solar projects across the globe are built on optimal technical and financial foundations. Key Responsibilities • Technical Sourcing & RFQ Management: Drive the technical scoping and RFQ creation for fixed structures and trackers. Review geotechnical reports, topographical data, and localized environmental loads (wind, snow, seismic) to align supply capabilities with static calculation requirements., • Supplier Qualification & Selection: Identify, audit, and manage high-performing global and local steel fabricators and tracker OEMs, ensuring alignment with project quality, bankability, and capability standards., • Strategic Negotiation: Lead commercial and contractual negotiations (including Framework and Outline Agreements) to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO), mitigate risk, and secure supply timelines., • Technical Evaluation: Conduct deep-dive technical reviews of supplier proposals. Collaborate with civil and mechanical engineering teams to interpret projects and validate that vendor designs meet site-specific demands., • Project Execution & Lifecycle Management: Manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle from PO issuance to site delivery. Monitor supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD), track manufacturing milestones, and maintain ERP accuracy., • Quality Assurance Integration: Partner with Corporate Quality to spearhead the First Article Inspection (FAI) process and factory audits, ensuring structural components meet strict quality benchmarks before mass production., • Stakeholder & Vendor Relations: Act as the primary technical and commercial interface between internal project management and external suppliers, hosting project alignments and proactively resolving delivery or technical discrepancies. Qualifications & Experience • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering (or equivalent technical background)., • Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or technical project management within the utility-scale solar energy sector., • Product Expertise: Proven track record specifically sourcing PV steel structures and solar trackers. Strong familiarity with market dynamics, key tracker OEMs, and steel fabrication processes., • Technical Literacy: Solid understanding of static calculations, mechanical/structural drawings, and geotechnical reports. Basic proficiency in AutoCAD for design review purposes., • Tools & Systems: Proficiency in modern ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced data reporting., • Languages: Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken) is required for managing international stakeholders., • Soft Skills: Strong negotiation acumen, excellent multitasking capabilities in fast-paced environments, and a collaborative mindset to drive cross-functional success.
