Mission The Optomechanical Engineer will contribute to the design, development, and integration of optomechanical systems used in advanced optical applications. The role involves supporting the full development cycle from early concept and CAD design through prototyping, manufacturing documentation, and system integration, ensuring optimal alignment between optical performance and mechanical robustness while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams. Responsibilities Optomechanical Design and Development • Design and develop optomechanical components and assemblies ensuring precision, stability, and manufacturability., • Create detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings for fabrication and integration., • Contribute to the architecture of integrated optical systems, considering alignment, tolerances, and environmental constraints. Prototyping and Assembly • Support the fabrication, assembly, and alignment of optical and optomechanical prototypes., • Participate in hands-on testing, optical alignment, and iterative design improvements., • Collaborate with engineering teams to refine designs based on validation results and system-level performance. Technical Documentation • Prepare and maintain manufacturing documentation including Bills of Materials and technical procedures., • Generate detailed assembly instructions and engineering drawings for production., • Ensure documentation supports both precision assembly and scalable manufacturing processes. Cross-Functional Engineering Collaboration • Participate in technical discussions and project development activities., • Work closely with optical, electronic, and mechanical engineers to ensure proper system integration., • Contribute to solving complex integration and alignment challenges in multidisciplinary environments. Required Qualifications • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related discipline., • Demonstrable experience with CAD design tools, preferably SolidWorks., • Experience in optomechanical design, precision mechanics, or optical system environments., • Ability to generate technical drawings, BoMs, and structured engineering documentation., • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken., • Strong organizational and teamwork skills within multidisciplinary environments. Preferred Experience • Experience in optical alignment and integration of precision optical systems., • Familiarity with tolerance analysis and optomechanical design principles., • Exposure to simulation tools such as FEA or optical modeling software., • Experience working in advanced technology, photonics, or research-driven environments.
