Satellite Electrical & Avionics Engineer (Space Systems) Hispasat, as part of the SpaceRISE consortium, is responsible for the technical implementation and ensuring the success of the IRIS² project, leveraging its extensive experience in satellite communications. This collaboration is essential to provide secure and reliable high-performance communication solutions to the European Union and its member states. We are focused on the development of a next-generation LEO satellite constellation, contributing to secure and resilient communications infrastructure at continental level. We are looking for an engineer specialized in spacecraft electrical systems and avionics, to work on the design and development of the satellite platform. Your role You will be involved in the definition and development of key electrical subsystems of the spacecraft, including power, avionics, and onboard systems. Main responsibilities include: • Definition and design of electrical architecture at platform level, • Development and specification of power subsystem (EPS) and electrical distribution, • Contribution to avionics systems, including onboard computers and data handling, • Definition of requirements and interfaces with other subsystems (AOCS, thermal, payload), • Support to system budgets (power, mass, interfaces), • Participation in integration, verification and validation activities (AIT/AIV), • Coordination with internal teams and external suppliers What we are looking for • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar, • Experience in spacecraft electrical systems, avionics or power subsystems, • Background in satellite programs (flight segment) is highly valued, • Knowledge of ECSS standards and space development lifecycle, • Experience in system integration and testing is a plus, • Ability to work in multidisciplinary and international environments Why this opportunity • Direct involvement in a flagship European space program (LEO constellation), • Exposure to full satellite lifecycle, from design to validation, • International and highly technical environment, • Long-term project with strong strategic impact
