Context of the Position As part of our strategic international expansion, JD Logistics is establishing its core infrastructure within the Spanish market, driven by the launch of our small-goods and cold-chain fulfillment operations. This is a critical greenfield deployment phase, which requires our founding leadership team to manage high operational fluidity, establish local processes from the ground up, and translate centralized global capabilities into localized execution. This position is designed for an experienced, highly safety-conscious forklift and material handling equipment (MHE) operator leader. The role demands a frontline supervisor who can orchestrate high-bay reach truck and forklift operations safely, optimize vertical replenishment cycles, and enforce strict equipment compliance on the warehouse floor. The Mission & Core Scope • The Mission: Lead, coordinate, and supervise the daily operations of the high-bay forklift and reach truck driver team, ensuring rapid, accurate stock replenishment and pallet movements to support downstream picking lines while maintaining zero-accident safety levels., • The Scope: You will take direct, hands-on floor responsibility for the specialized MHE operator crew, tracking hourly pallet-movement targets, managing fleet safety compliance, overseeing battery-charging/charging station routines, and ensuring adherence to the Convenio Colectivo de Logística de Madrid. Crucial Expectations & Performance Targets To provide a clear understanding of the accountability required, the successful candidate will be evaluated on the following key metrics during the initial 6 to 12 months: • Hourly Replenishment & Stow Throughput: Successfully manage shift execution to ensure that automated and manual picking rows are continuously replenished with stock, preventing picking downtime., • Zero-Accident & Safety Enforcement: Maintain absolute safety discipline across high-bay aisles, ensuring 100% adherence to speed limits, load capacities, pedestrian exclusion zones, and immediate reporting of racking or equipment impacts., • Fleet Readiness & Pre-Shift Auditing: Supervise daily pre-shift vehicle inspections (brakes, hydraulics, battery logs) for the entire MHE fleet, coordinating with the maintenance lead to minimize vehicle downtime., • Inventory Accuracy at Height: Ensure all structural pallet drops, movements, and high-bay bin allocations match perfectly within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) via accurate scanning compliance. Position Requirements • Greenfield Launch Expertise: You must have a verified background acting as a forklift team leader, MHE captain, or senior reach truck operator during a high-volume distribution center launch, site expansion, or major logistics peak season., • Valid Certifications: Must possess up-to-date, officially recognized Spanish forklift licenses (Carnet de Carretillero under Norma UNE 58451) covering high-lift reach trucks (Retráctiles) and counterbalanced forklifts., • Frontline Floor Mastery: Proven experience leading specialized teams of equipment operators, deep familiarity with high-bay VNA racking safety, and a strong command of RF scanners and WMS task management., • Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory to translate system targets into floor execution and report fleet performance metrics clearly to international management., • Operational Flexibility: High adaptability regarding shift rotations (including early mornings, nights, and weekends) to guarantee complete MHE coverage for a 24/7 launch cycle.
