This role ensures that equipment operates efficiently and reliably by performing tasks such as programming control systems, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, conducting routine inspections, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to implement improvements. The technician plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, enhancing productivity, and maintaining safety and quality standards across automated operations. /ph3Job Duties and Responsibilities /h3ulliInstall and configure automated machinery and control systems /liliSet up production equipment to meet operational specifications /liliProgram and troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) /liliConfigure and maintain HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems /liliUse CAD software to design or modify control logic /liliPerform routine preventive maintenance on automation equipment /liliDiagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software faults /liliConduct performance tests to ensure systems meet defined parameters /liliCalibrate sensors and instruments for accuracy and compliance /liliMaintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and system changes /liliCollaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams /liliTrain operators and maintenance staff on system use and safety protocols /liliEnsure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards /liliIdentify and implement improvements to enhance system efficiency and reliability /li /ulh3Skills and Competencies /h3ulliSelf-directed /liliInspires and motivates others around them /liliEncourages and facilitates change /liliPossesses the ability to clarify complex situations /liliAble to manage multiple priorities with a bias towards action and speed /liliSearches for solutions, drives continuous improvement and constantly raises the bar to stretch own and others’ levels of achievement /liliConstantly displays integrity and respect /liliBases decisions on fact and adopts a disciplined approach /liliActively engages in discussions and openly supports team decisions /li /ulh3Education and Experience /h3ulliA Higher Vocational Training qualification (Grado Superior) in fields such as Industrial Automation, Electromechanics, Mechatronics, or Industrial Electronics. This is often the most direct and recognized path into the profession. /liliAlternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering or a related technical field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics) is also common, especially for more advanced roles. /liliEnglish language: Professional working proficiency. Ability to read technical documentation, write service reports/emails, and communicate with international customers and internal teams. /li /ulh3Physical Demands /h3pEmployee may have to lift documents/work materials up to 30 pounds in weight. Employee may have to lift tools up to 50 pounds in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air/auto to remote sites. This can include occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like. Employee will need to move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another. Employee will need to operate machinery and/or power tools, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee will need to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Employee can work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time. Will have repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. /ppPrimary work environment is a manufacturing environment where following appropriate safety protocols would be required.
