Senior Product Manager - Underground Mining Equipment

Scope of Responsibility This position is responsible for shaping product strategy and the roadmap for underground equipment platforms, identifying customer needs through direct market engagement, and converting those needs into product requirements and business cases. The role works closely with engineering, R&D, operations, sales, and service teams to ensure new products are technically viable, safe, differentiated, and aligned with market demand in underground mining. Key Responsibilities • Define and own the product roadmap for underground utility vehicles, mucking equipment, and/or drilling equipment, aligned with company strategy and market opportunities., • Identify unmet customer needs through mine visits, customer interviews, competitive analysis, and assessment of trends such as electrification, automation, digitalization, and safety improvement., • Lead the new product development process from concept through launch, including product requirements, technical specifications, value proposition, pricing logic, and lifecycle planning., • Partner with engineering and technical teams to convert field requirements into product concepts that are robust, safe, maintainable, and scalable for international underground mining applications., • Support strategic bids, product launches, and customer-facing discussions with sales and service teams for key underground mining accounts., • Monitor portfolio performance including market fit, commercial uptake, profitability, and lifecycle competitiveness, and propose upgrades, simplification, or replacement where needed., • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mining Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field., • Typically 8–10+ years of total professional experience, including at least 5 years in product management, product line, application, or development roles related to underground mining equipment., • Proven experience with underground utility vehicles and/or mucking and/or drilling equipment is required., • Experience working with cross-functional teams in engineering, operations, service, and commercial organizations is required., • International exposure and willingness to travel regularly to mines, customers, factories, and field validation sites are important for the role., • Fluent professional English is required; additional languages are considered a plus.
