We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Bar Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you'll be a key part of keeping our venue running smoothly, ensuring guests have an amazing experience, and supporting our team to deliver their best. You will be an important link between team members and senior leaders and your aim is to help others develop in their roles. You are expected to support building a team based on trust, with open and honest communication. Core Responsibilities - Cellar Management: Ensure stock is stored correctly and maintain beer lines to the highest standard. - Deep Cleaning: Oversee and participate in regular deep cleans to maintain high standards of hygiene. - Venue Aesthetics: Ensure the venue always looks its best, from layout to lighting. - Staff and Storage Areas: Keep these spaces tidy, organised, and functional. - Maintenance: Report and address any maintenance issues swiftly. - Lost Property: Ensure all lost property is logged and stored securely. - Shift Management: Oversee the running of shifts, ensuring everything flows smoothly. - Building Lock-Up: Ensure all areas are safely secured at the end of the night. Opening Duties - Open the venue and ensure it's ready to welcome guests by 12:00 pm. - Confirm all staff have clocked in. - Print key documents, including Opening Briefs, Toilet Checklists, Close Down Sheets, and Waste Sheets. - Open the End of Day (EOD) system in preparation for the day. - Sign off the opening compliance folder. During the Shift - Maintain a clean and tidy venue at all times. - Ensure all team members are in the right roles to keep service flowing smoothly. - Coordinate with the Floor Supervisor to assign the team effectively. - Handle customer complaints professionally when a manager isn’t present. - Ensure regular toilet checks are completed. - Organise staff breaks to maintain energy and focus. - Monitor venue lighting and sound to create the right atmosphere. - Write a detailed End of Day (EOD) report for your shift. Closing Duties - Ensure all customers have left the venue. - Assign closing tasks to team members, ensuring everything is cleaned to standard. - Confirm all staff have clocked out. - Log all lost property in the EOD report and secure it in the lost property locker. - Submit the EOD report to management with the correct figures. - Sign the compliance diary to confirm all tasks are complete. - Power down all venue lights. - Secure all internal and external doors and windows. - Lock the padlock to The White Building for added security. - Communication & Teamwork - Maintain clear and constant communication with managers about urgent issues. - Work closely with the Floor Supervisor to ensure staff are well-positioned throughout the shift. General Duties - Accurately record all wastage. - Relay any issues like staff disputes, guest complaints, or quality concerns to management. - Check in with the manager regularly to report progress and identify any outstanding tasks.
