Chef required for friendly independent English pub. Hertford. Position involves: Working with a small team who will train you in our current menus and practices. Get involved with creating, planning, sourcing, costing & implementing fresh new dishes focusing on good traditional English pub food. Understanding food GP’s, allergens & other dietary requirements. All aspects of food stock control including ordering, deliveries, stock taking and control of wastage. Maintaining excellent standards of hygiene and conforming at all times with health & hygiene regulations throughout the kitchen. Catering for small functions. The right candidate would: Have a thirst for learning. Work well within a team. Maintain profit margins. Have a good eye for detail and work well under pressure. Be consistently passionate about serving & presenting dishes to be proud of. Need to be flexible in their approach to work hours and understand that our busiest times are the weekends & public holidays. To view our current menus. Food service is currently12-9pm Monday to Friday & 12 – 6pm on Sundays. We are looking for approx 40 hours a week. Live in available for the right candidate. Salary is dependent on age and skill level and would be discussed at interview. We also provide holiday pay, pension scheme & share of staff tips.
