Summary Be part of a newly created team in a beautiful, ambitious café & food hall, located front and centre in the ground floor of our mixed use hospitality and workspace building in Peckham. You will be involved in all parts of the day to day life of the café & food hall, preparing hot and cold food and drinks, welcoming and serving our customers and maintaining very high standards of upkeep and visual presentation to help us create an excellent, well established neighbourhood destination. With expert training offered, this is a great opportunity to work in a collaborative, progressive venue which is full of life and open to all. We’re looking for an organised, highly diligent person who loves to connect with and serve customers to ensure an exceptional and memorable experience. Applicants should have at least 1 year experience in speciality coffee, and ideally up to 2 years working in a high paced environment. SCA foundation is a bonus but not essential. You’ll be working with a range of Conti, on-demand grinders, Puq press and batch brew machinery, so will need to be comfortable calibrating grinders, managing workflow, and prioritising drinks as they come in. Having an understanding of working to recipe and tweaking where necessary to achieve desired flavour is a must. What is being offered? We offer competitive salaries with a share of tips/Tronc, as well as training and support for all our team. Key Tasks: Responsibility for the day to day running and operation of the café set within our ground floor food hall, supported by the Venue Manager and wider management team, as well as assisting in the oversight and operation of the food hall. Responsibilities include; 1. Operational leadership – overseeing day to day operations of the café, managing a team to embed a motivated and enjoyable culture, implementing SOPs to ensure highly consistent, excellent standards, and monitoring inventory and supplies (all supported by the Venue Manager) 2. Customer experience – providing an exceptional, welcoming and memorable experience for every single customer, ensuring the space always looks beautiful, proactively engaging with customers and community to gather feedback and address concerns, and implementing initiatives to enhance customer loyalty and satisfaction 3. You will both unload the van together and set up the entire stall ready for service. You will then be required to drive the van back to the Ehla Prep Unit. Afternoon shift: You will need to collect the van from the Ehla Prep Unit in Woolwich and drive to the Market or Event location you dropped to that morning to collect the equipment and any left over food. Once arriving on site you will assist your colleagues in packing up and with their help load everything neatly and in order into the van. As the driver it is your responsibility to make sure everything goes into the van in a neat and clean manner. You will return to the Ehla Prep Unit where you will unload all food items and arrange everything neatly and accordingly into the fridges.
