  We are currently working on behalf of a M&E Design Consultancy who have over 40+ years experience delivering mission-critical building services – now seeking a senior Mechanical Design Engineer for their offices in the region on a long term contract. The company are a multi-disciplined consultancy involved in all areas of the building services industry with a specific focus on the pharmaceutical, Commercial and Healthcare Sector. This position is to primarily provide electrical design services on a wide range of projects for a large multi-national pharmaceutical About them : • Multi-disciplined consultancy with deep specialism in pharmaceutical & life sciences, • Direct end-client partnership on multi-national clean-manufacturing projects, • Diverse portfolio: commercial, sports venues, heritage, residential, • 40+ years in business – stable, growing, design-led Your Role: • Full lifecycle mechanical design: feasibility → validation, • Hevacomp + IES calculations (Revit = advantage), • AutoCAD drawings, specs, schedules, tender packs, • Site surveys, client liaison, multi-disciplinary coordination, • Drive H&S, QA, and process efficiency You Bring: • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services, • 3+ years post-grad design experience, • Expert in AutoCAD + Hevacomp + IES, • Confident, ambitious, strong interpersonal & commercial skills, • Pharma/process experience preferred (not essential) What You Get: • High-impact role on flagship GMP projects, • Cross-sector exposure, • Collaborative, professional, growth-focused culture

  NRL are currently recruiting an Assistant / Junior / Graduate Quantity Surveyor on a Permanent basis in the North East. A leading Electrical and Mechanical Building Services Contractor delivering high-quality engineering solutions across commercial, healthcare, and Industrial sectors. With a strong pipeline of projects and a reputation for excellence, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join growing commercial team. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial team in managing the financial and contractual aspects of M&E projects. You’ll assist in cost planning, procurement, valuations, and reporting to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions, • Support procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including issuing enquiries and evaluating quotations, • Measure and value works on-site, including variations and change orders, • Assist in preparing interim valuations and final accounts, • Maintain accurate records of project costs and contractual correspondence, • Support the Senior QS in preparing monthly cost reports and forecasts, • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure commercial objectives are met, • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures, • Attend site meetings and contribute to project reviews, • Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (or working towards), • Strong numerical and analytical skills, • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other commercial software, • Understanding of M&E systems and terminology, • Full UK driving licence, • Competitive salary and benefits package, • Ongoing training and professional development The NRL Group connect global companies with the right people to bring engineering projects to life.
