  NRL are currently recruiting an Assistant / Junior / Graduate Quantity Surveyor on a Permanent basis in the North East. A leading Electrical and Mechanical Building Services Contractor delivering high-quality engineering solutions across commercial, healthcare, and Industrial sectors. With a strong pipeline of projects and a reputation for excellence, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join growing commercial team. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial team in managing the financial and contractual aspects of M&E projects. You’ll assist in cost planning, procurement, valuations, and reporting to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions, • Support procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including issuing enquiries and evaluating quotations, • Measure and value works on-site, including variations and change orders, • Assist in preparing interim valuations and final accounts, • Maintain accurate records of project costs and contractual correspondence, • Support the Senior QS in preparing monthly cost reports and forecasts, • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure commercial objectives are met, • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures, • Attend site meetings and contribute to project reviews, • Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (or working towards), • Strong numerical and analytical skills, • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other commercial software, • Understanding of M&E systems and terminology, • Full UK driving licence, • Competitive salary and benefits package, • Ongoing training and professional development The NRL Group connect global companies with the right people to bring engineering projects to life.
