Site Manager / Joiner Reports To Construction Manager / Director Job Purpose To oversee the day-to-day management of construction and refurbishment projects while carrying out or supervising joinery works where required. The Site Manager / Joiner is responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Key ResponsibilitiesSite Management • Manage daily site operations from start to completion., • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour., • Prepare and maintain project programmes and work schedules., • Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications., • Monitor project progress and resolve site issues promptly., • Carry out regular site inspections and quality checks., • Maintain accurate site records., • Liaise with clients and surveyors., • Organise material deliveries and site logistics., • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Joinery Duties • Carry out first and second fix joinery where required., • Install doors, windows, kitchens, flooring, staircases, skirting, architraves, and bespoke timber work., • Interpret technical drawings and specifications., • Ensure all joinery work meets company quality standards., • Assist with snagging and final project handovers. Health & Safety • Enforce Health & Safety legislation and company procedures., • Conduct site inductions and toolbox talks., • Complete risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)., • Ensure correct use of PPE., • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment., • Report accidents, incidents, and near misses. Quality Control • Inspect workmanship throughout each stage of the project., • Ensure defects are identified and rectified promptly., • Maintain high standards of finish and customer satisfaction. Communication • Act as the main point of contact on site., • Attend project meetings., • Provide regular progress updates to management and clients., • Build positive relationships with customers and subcontractors. Essential Skills & Experience • Strong knowledge of building regulations and construction methods., • Proven experience managing construction or refurbishment sites., • Excellent organisational and leadership skills., • Ability to read technical drawings., • Strong problem-solving ability., • Good communication and interpersonal skills., • Competent in Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems., • Full UK Driving Licence. Desirable Qualifications • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), • CSCS Gold or Black Card, • First Aid at Work Personal Attributes • Reliable and self-motivated., • Professional and customer-focused., • Strong attention to detail., • Able to manage multiple priorities., • Team player with a proactive approach. Working Conditions • Based on construction and refurbishment sites., • Regular travel between project locations., • Occasional overtime to meet project deadlines.
