  Multi-Skilled Workshop Mechanic Location: Cranham, near Upminster, EssexPay: £18.00-£22.00 per hourWe are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and respected roadside assistance and vehicle recovery company with a busy depot and workshops based in Cranham, near Upminster, Essex.Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Workshop Mechanic to join their team. This is a varied, hands-on role working on an extensive range of vehicles, from pre-1960s classics through to modern cars, sports and performance vehicles, vans and light commercial vehicles.This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their workmanship, and can confidently manage their own workload while working with minimal supervision.Key Responsibilities Diagnose, service and repair a wide variety of petrol and diesel vehicles.Carry out maintenance and repairs on classic, modern, sports and performance vehicles.Rebuild and set up carburettors.Complete engine, suspension and brake repairs and rebuilds.Conduct vehicle inspections and fault diagnosis.Undertake welding and fabrication work where required.Complete servicing and preventative maintenance to a high standard.Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently and professionally.Requirements Proven experience as a qualified Vehicle Mechanic or Technician.Excellent mechanical knowledge across both classic and modern vehicles.Experience working on both petrol and diesel engines.Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.Welding experience is advantageous.A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.Full UK driving licence preferred.What's on Offer £18.00-£22.00 per hour, depending on experience.Full-time, permanent position.Varied and interesting work on everything from classic vehicles to modern performance cars.Friendly, supportive and well-equipped workshop.Long-term opportunity with a respected local business that has built an excellent reputation in roadside assistance, recovery and vehicle repair.If you're an experienced mechanic looking for a role where no two days are the same and you enjoy working on a diverse range of vehicles, we'd love to hear from you.TPBN1_UKTJ

Do you have a strong background delivering underground utilities projects including water, gas, power or telecommunications? Location: South Essex Rate: £450/day inside IR35 Contract Length: Until December(extension likely) Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday A major contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support the delivery of a major utilities package on one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects. Working across a programme of utility diversions including water, gas, power and communications, you'll play a key role in supporting the project team, engaging with subcontractors and maintaining strong relationships with the client. This is a site-based role with flexibility to work from home when completing administration or attending meetings remotely. Responsibilities ·Provide day-to-day Health & Safety support across the project. ·Review RAMS and safe systems of work. ·Support project teams with planning and safe delivery of utilities works. ·Carry out site inspections, audits and incident investigations. ·Challenge unsafe behaviours and drive continuous improvement. ·Work closely with subcontractors, project leadership and the client to ensure compliance with company procedures and legislation. ·Promote a positive health & safety culture across the project. Essential Requirements ·Previous experience as a Health & Safety Manager on major infrastructure projects. ·Strong background delivering underground utilities projects including water, gas, power or telecommunications. ·Experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor. ·Confident managing subcontractors and working in a client-facing environment. ·Strong understanding of excavation safety, temporary works and high-risk utilities activities. ·NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent). The successful candidate will have a strong commercial background within FRA fire door installation and bespoke joinery fit-out works, with the ability to manage projects from tender through to final account. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven QS who understands the specialist nature of fire door and joinery packages and is looking to take on a key role within a growing business. Key Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor: • Manage the commercial aspects of multiple fire door and bespoke joinery fit-out projects., • Prepare, review and manage project budgets, forecasts and cost reports., • Manage variations, valuations, applications for payment and final accounts., • Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier accounts., • Assess project costs, risks and commercial opportunities., • Work closely with project managers, site teams, clients and subcontractors., • Prepare and submit accurate valuations and variation claims., • Monitor project performance against budgets and agreed commercial targets., • Assist with tendering, pricing and procurement activities., • Ensure contractual obligations and commercial procedures are followed., • Maintain accurate project records and provide regular commercial reporting., • Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors and supply chain partners. The Quantity Surveyor must have/be: • Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction., • Specific experience with FRA fire door installation and/or bespoke joinery and fit-out projects., • A strong understanding of construction contracts, variations, valuations and final accounts., • Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail., • Strong negotiation and communication skills., • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively., • Good knowledge of construction methods, materials and associated costs., • A proactive and commercially minded approach., • Experience working with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
