  Multi-Skilled Workshop Mechanic Location: Cranham, near Upminster, EssexPay: £18.00-£22.00 per hourWe are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and respected roadside assistance and vehicle recovery company with a busy depot and workshops based in Cranham, near Upminster, Essex.Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Workshop Mechanic to join their team. This is a varied, hands-on role working on an extensive range of vehicles, from pre-1960s classics through to modern cars, sports and performance vehicles, vans and light commercial vehicles.This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their workmanship, and can confidently manage their own workload while working with minimal supervision.Key Responsibilities Diagnose, service and repair a wide variety of petrol and diesel vehicles.Carry out maintenance and repairs on classic, modern, sports and performance vehicles.Rebuild and set up carburettors.Complete engine, suspension and brake repairs and rebuilds.Conduct vehicle inspections and fault diagnosis.Undertake welding and fabrication work where required.Complete servicing and preventative maintenance to a high standard.Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently and professionally.Requirements Proven experience as a qualified Vehicle Mechanic or Technician.Excellent mechanical knowledge across both classic and modern vehicles.Experience working on both petrol and diesel engines.Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.Welding experience is advantageous.A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.Full UK driving licence preferred.What's on Offer £18.00-£22.00 per hour, depending on experience.Full-time, permanent position.Varied and interesting work on everything from classic vehicles to modern performance cars.Friendly, supportive and well-equipped workshop.Long-term opportunity with a respected local business that has built an excellent reputation in roadside assistance, recovery and vehicle repair.If you're an experienced mechanic looking for a role where no two days are the same and you enjoy working on a diverse range of vehicles, we'd love to hear from you.TPBN1_UKTJ

Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The successful candidate will have a strong commercial background within FRA fire door installation and bespoke joinery fit-out works, with the ability to manage projects from tender through to final account. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven QS who understands the specialist nature of fire door and joinery packages and is looking to take on a key role within a growing business. Key Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor: • Manage the commercial aspects of multiple fire door and bespoke joinery fit-out projects., • Prepare, review and manage project budgets, forecasts and cost reports., • Manage variations, valuations, applications for payment and final accounts., • Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier accounts., • Assess project costs, risks and commercial opportunities., • Work closely with project managers, site teams, clients and subcontractors., • Prepare and submit accurate valuations and variation claims., • Monitor project performance against budgets and agreed commercial targets., • Assist with tendering, pricing and procurement activities., • Ensure contractual obligations and commercial procedures are followed., • Maintain accurate project records and provide regular commercial reporting., • Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors and supply chain partners.   Commercial Manager – Flooring / Tiling / Construction Location: London / South East Salary: £75,000 – £85,000 DOE Employment: Permanent Clear Progression to Director available Hawkes are working with an established and growing contractor looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to take ownership of the commercial function within the business. We’re looking for someone commercially sharp, proactive and confident who can work closely with the senior management team while providing strong commercial leadership across multiple projects. The ideal candidate could come from a flooring, tiling, interiors or specialist subcontractor background, although we would also be very interested in speaking with Commercial Managers or experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors from a main contractor environment. The Role You’ll take responsibility for the commercial performance of projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring margins are protected and commercial risks are identified and managed properly. Key responsibilities will include: • Leading the commercial function across multiple projects, • Managing project costs, budgets, forecasts and cash flow, • Preparing and agreeing valuations, variations and final accounts, • Reviewing contracts and identifying commercial risks, • Managing subcontractor and supplier accounts, • Working closely with project and operational teams, • Building strong relationships with clients and negotiating where required, • Providing accurate commercial reporting to the directors, • Helping improve commercial processes as the business continues to grow The Person We’re not looking for someone who simply processes numbers. The business needs somebody who is dynamic, commercially switched on and comfortable taking ownership. You’ll ideally have: • Strong Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management experience, • Main contractor, flooring, tiling, interiors or specialist subcontractor experience, • Good contractual and commercial knowledge, • Strong negotiation and communication skills, • The confidence to challenge when necessary while maintaining good client relationships, • The ability to lead the commercial element of a growing business There is genuine scope for the right person to become an important part of the senior management team and progress further as the business grows.
