This role will support and assist the Room Leader and floor staff, in planning and monitoring the environment, and implementing essential policies and procedures. This will require creative thought together with an informed understanding of best practice for childcare. The Post-holder will support with the following: To work with staff in the room to ensure that activities engage and challenge children as well as encouraging progression through the stages of development. Complete all daily nursery tasks satisfactorily as delegated. To be aware of and adhere to the room procedure and risk assessments. Ensure that children are adequately supervised during the day (indoors and outdoors) and at meal times. Report any safeguarding issues and document and/or log any incidents, accidents or unusual situation. To ensure effective communication is maintained with regard to children’s welfare, the organisation of the day. Adhere to the company’s Equality policy ensuring that children, parents and the staff team are valued and practice is positive and non-discriminatory. Give regular feedback to the Room Leader/Floor Manager about the children including any complaints received or any situation that may be detrimental to the nursery and agree on actions required or taken to resolve such issues accordingly. Purpose of the Job: To provide safe, high-quality education and care for nursery children, with a focus on play-based learning both indoors and outdoors, and to offer one-to-one support for children with additional needs. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Implement the nursery's responsibilities according to the SEND Code of Practice, ensuring daily practices align with these guidelines. Early identification and support of children with SEND, following the graduated approach and implementing strategies to improve outcomes. Ensure all practitioners understand their responsibilities to children with SEN and the setting's approach to identifying and meeting SEN. Advise and support colleagues, ensuring parents are closely involved and their insights inform actions taken. Liaise with external professionals or agencies, incorporating their advice into setting planning. Arrange and facilitate parent discussion sessions where a child requires additional support to reach developmental milestones. Complete necessary paperwork in a timely manner, organize and/or attend professional/parental meetings, including SEND Support planning meetings and transition meetings. Pursue continuous professional development through training and encourage staff to attend appropriate sessions. Stay updated on changes to legislation regarding SEND. Safeguard and promote the welfare of children by following principles of safeguarding. Provide high-quality care and education in consultation with parents/carers, SENCO, and other agencies, ensuring each child's cognitive, social, and emotional needs are met. Maintain a safe nursery environment with high hygiene standards and implement safety procedures. Promote positive behaviour and support children's personal, social, and emotional development. Foster children's growth, self-esteem, and independence. Plan and deliver focused learning opportunities for individual children, working with key workers to discuss individual needs. Participate in outings and trips, supporting the nursery team in providing access to all areas of the curriculum. Maintain confidential files, reports, and developmental records for assessment purposes. Maintain communication with parents/carers to ensure their involvement in the nursery and encourage active participation in their child's learning. Support parents in accessing available services. Participate in supervision, appraisal, training, and relevant meetings. To ensure that all EYFS welfare requirements are met.
We are seeking a Live-in sole charge Nanny for three kids:- 4months baby boy, 4yrs boy and 6yrs girl. **Family of 5 based in Finchley, North London. Excellent location with easy access to London transport. ** Start end of August early September (the current nanny is leaving in August to return to her native country, Australia) **The contracted days and hours will be Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm with 1 x babysit during the weekdays. **Both parents are working (mum is a lawyer and dad works in property industry). They are a Jewish family, easy going, welcoming organised family home. **The daily routine overview:- in a team with the parents., get the kids up, breakfast and drive the older two to school. Daily routine for the baby - naps, feed times and stimulate with outdoor and indoor activities to support social, intellectual, physical and emotional development. When baby is napping, cook kids meals and baby nursery duties. Afterschool routine of collecting the kids, take to activities, park and library trips. School holidays will be travelling with the family to South of France or doing fun days out in London. **What we are looking for. You must hold the following key requirements:- - 3 years of professional childcare/nanny experience working with multiple kids aged from 6months++ - fluent English if not native - driving licence with experience driving in London and with children - mature, responsible with a loving, kind and warm-friendly character - fun, happy to sing nursery rhymes, enjoy reading kids stories, hands-on with play, happy to get messy and play football etc. - checkable references - happy to travel **Package offered.
