Your new role We are seeking an experienced Associate Director – Quantity Surveying to join the team and play a key role in delivering major projects, mentoring staff, and driving commercial success. You will be responsible for: • Leading cost planning and commercial strategy on flagship developments, including:, • A multi-block student living scheme valued at over £100M, setting new standards for urban regeneration and sustainable design., • A landmark retail redevelopment in a prime city centre location, involving phased refurbishment and expansion with a total investment exceeding £100M., • High-profile office transformations for public and private sector clients, including heritage-sensitive refurbishments and modern workplace upgrades., • Managing the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and procurement through to final account., • Mentoring junior and mid-level surveyors, supporting APC candidates and contributing to a culture of continuous development., • Building and maintaining client relationships, ensuring commercial excellence and identifying opportunities for growth., • Collaborating across offices, working closely with teams in other regions to deliver integrated solutions.What you'll need to succeed, • Chartered Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in commercial projects., • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage teams and mentor junior staff., • Excellent knowledge of cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and risk management., • Strong communication and client-facing skills., • Based in Glasgow or willing to relocate (Edinburgh and Aberdeen also considered)., • Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.What you'll get in return, • Competitive salary with flexible and ongoing negotiation - no rigid bands and a review every 3 - 6 months., • 35 days holiday, private pension (4% employer contribution), life and health benefits., • RICS fees paid and full support for training and development., • Hybrid working model: 2-3 days from home, with flexibility for family commitments., • Structured progression with annual reviews and no glass ceiling., • A vibrant, social culture with regular events and strong cross-office collaboration. 4735227

Working from their Glasgow office, they are the preferred bidder on a range of publicly funded projects in the West and are now seeking to appoint a Senior QS to their commercial team to lead on one of these projects. Your new role As Senior Quantity Surveyor for this builder, you will be getting involved in your project at the preconstruction and procurement stage, assisting your client in developing a budget to get your project onto site. Working with your operational team in terms of buildability, design management and value engineering, your superior construction knowledge will allow you to produce an acceptable cost plan for your project to hit the park. Of course, once your project proceeds, you will then be involved in the commercial delivery of this project, from finalising subcontractor procurement to maintaining a positive commercial relationship with your client. Based across site, office and home, you will get the autonomy and independence to drive your project commercially.
