  Procurement Category Manager Permanent Theale/Home – 3 days a week in Theale We are looking for a skilled Procurement Category Manager to manage a diverse portfolio of strategic and complex procurement categories, covering both direct and indirect spend, large‑scale outsourcing agreements, and joint ventures. You will lead negotiations for new and renewal contracts, develop and implement sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and ensure all procurement activity aligns with our governance and commercial frameworks. This role also plays a key part in shaping negotiation strategies, embedding best practice across the organisation, and supporting capability development within the procurement team. Key Responsibilities of the Procurement Category Manager include: • Implement sourcing strategies using commercial contract models and templates in line with company policies., • Lead negotiations for new and renewal agreements, ensuring alignment with service, quality, value, and risk expectations., • Develop robust negotiation plans in partnership with business, operational, and commercial stakeholders., • Ensure scopes of work are well‑defined with fair risk allocation., • Apply advanced negotiation techniques and procurement best practice across all engagements., • Manage end‑to‑end procurement processes from sourcing to contract execution and handover., • Build collaborative working relationships to support smooth transition into supplier management., • Ensure procurement activity is transparent, compliant, and aligned with delegated authority., • Challenge demand and consolidate requirements to maximise value., • Support supplier performance and commercial relationship management., • Maintain procurement systems and databases accurately and promptly., • Drive innovative sourcing initiatives to deliver competitive advantage., • Provide regular procurement reporting to senior leadership., • Conduct market and competitor assessments to optimise total cost of ownership., • Contribute to the development of the sourcing and commercial team through guidance and knowledge sharing. The successful Procurement Category Manager will have: • 5–10 years’ experience leading complex commercial negotiations, including outsourcing and joint ventures., • Strong background in end‑to‑end procurement processes., • Experience working across multiple categories and cross‑functional teams., • Proven ability to coach or mentor stakeholders in negotiation or procurement., • Sector experience in telecoms, construction, FM, or utilities (desirable)., • Advanced negotiation skills and strong understanding of total cost of ownership., • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills., • Strong organisational, governance, and process management capabilities., • Knowledge of contract law and supplier risk management.

This is a key role supporting safe operations across our national estate and ensuring robust governance, risk management, and compliance. This position reports to the Head of HSQE and plays a central part in driving a positive safety culture and supporting operational teams, suppliers, and stakeholders. Responsibilities of the Operational Health & Safety Manager include: • Advising on operational Health & Safety risks across site maintenance and estates assurance projects, • Supporting teams to assess hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement mitigation plans, • Providing governance across the central estate risk register, • Monitoring, analysing, and reporting on H&S performance and emerging risks, • Working with Estates, Legal, and suppliers to identify and manage site‑related safety issues, • Supporting incident investigations and contributing to continuous improvement, • Maintaining accurate records, corrective actions, and compliance documentation The successful Operational Health & Safety Manager will have: • Strong regulatory knowledge within mobile infrastructure, telecoms, or construction, • Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and inspections, • Understanding of ISO 45001 and CDM Regulations, • NEBOSH Certificate (Construction preferred; General minimum), • 3+ years in an operational telecoms or construction environment, • IOSH membership desirable, • Confident communicator with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder‑management skills, • Proactive, collaborative, and committed to high safety standards

  About this Role: Project Manager required to run a £5m new build timber framed residential project in Mortimer Common near Theale, Berkshire. This is a secured project with main works due to start in the spring for an 18 months programme. Reporting to the Construction Director and visiting Contracts Manager you will be responsible for managing the project through the end of the preconstruction phase, ready to start on site and throughout the construction phase. You take the lead holding responsibility for input to design development, construction methodology and programme of works, logistics, plus specifically the smooth and timely progress of construction on site, health and safety, quality control and any issue resolution. About the Company: The client is the busy Thames Valley based regional office of a national main contractor, with a turnover in excess of £25m and with secured workload in the residential, leisure, healthcare, education and retirement living sectors across the Thames Valley region Projects range in size from £5m to £15m, secured through a mixture of national and regional frameworks, negotiated schemes with repeat clients and competitive tenders. There is a good pipeline of future workload, with 50% of turnover already secured for 2027. Requirements and qualifications: You will ideally be an experienced Project Manager or No1 Senior Site Manager looking to step up, with a proven track record working with a Tier 2 main contractor, able to successfully deliver design & build schemes as the Project Lead. Key attributes will include excellent leadership skills and team management ability, technical, contractual and commercial knowledge, plus focus and drive with the ability to keep works on track. High standards, attention to detail and drive will be very well rewarded with excellent salary, benefits, promotional and development prospects.
