As a key player in their nuclear division, you’ll contribute to a wide array of critical projects that power and protect vital national infrastructure. This role is ideal for experienced engineers with a strong background in control panel design, PLC systems, and LV distribution. You will work on the full lifecycle of hardware systems — from initial design to final delivery. Main Responsibilities: • Design and develop hardware systems using proprietary components, focusing on PLCs, MCCs, drives, controls, and switchgear., • Create and review detailed electrical designs, cabling schematics, and containment system layouts., • Support on-site surveys and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective engineering solutions., • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence within the wider project team., • Ensure all work complies with safety and environmental regulations, as well as relevant British and international standards. Skills / Experience Required: • Proven experience designing electrical panels, especially with PLCs and low-voltage systems., • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel)., • Degree or HND-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline, with significant hands-on project experience., • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage clients and mentor peers., • Eligibility for UK security clearance at SC level or higher is essential.   Site Manager – Electrical Engineering Location: Staffordshire Office/UK Client Sites (Nationwide Travel Required) Sector: Energy / Protection, Control & Automation About the Role My client are looking to recruit an experienced Site Manager with a strong Electrical Engineering background to support the delivery of complex energy infrastructure projects across the UK. This role is predominantly site-based and will involve managing the safe, high-quality installation, commissioning and customer acceptance of Protection, Control, Automation and Electrical systems at transmission substations, large generators and industrial client sites. You will take full responsibility for safety, quality, time and specification, leading multi-disciplinary site teams and subcontractors while ensuring compliance with all regulatory, safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities • Manage the installation, commissioning and customer acceptance of Protection, Control, Automation and Electrical installations across the Energy Sector, ensuring delivery to safety, quality, programme and specification, • Lead and manage site teams including Site Technicians, Hardware Engineers, Commissioning Engineers, Software Engineers and subcontractors, • Supervise electrical, mechanical, cabling, lifting and delivery subcontractors, • Chair pre-start meetings, site progress meetings and coordination meetings with clients, producing associated minutes, • Develop, review and implement site documentation including Construction Phase Plans, SHE plans, RAMS, site inductions and waste management plans, • Ensure works comply with CDM Regulations 2015 and relevant industry standards, • Carry out site surveys to support tendering and project delivery, • Work collaboratively with engineering, project management and SHEQ teams to ensure successful project delivery, • Liaise with Project Management to ensure adequate site resources are planned and managed, • Support the identification and management of changes to scope, programme and cost, • Assist with electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities where required, • Control site drawings, documentation and Installation & Test Plans (ITPs), • Organise site welfare, tools and equipment, • Monitor site activities and assess the competence of staff and contractors Candidate Profile • Proven experience as a Site Manager with an electrical installation background, • Strong understanding of electrical and minor mechanical installation practices, • Ability to read and interpret drawings and engineering documentation, • Good working knowledge of UK construction and CDM Regulations 2015, • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills, • Structured, analytical approach to work, • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel, • Current National Grid Competent Person, • Experience working to National Grid procedures and standards, • Authorised as SR163 (previously TP137) Site Manager, • Experience delivering substation Protection & Control projects, • Understanding of Impressed Voltages and associated risks Qualifications & Training (Essential or Highly Desirable): • BS 7671 18th Edition, • CITB Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalent, • Health & safety training (e.g. IOSH, CITB, RoSPA, BSC), • Temporary Works Coordination / Supervision, • First Aid at Work, • Asbestos Awareness, • Working at Height, Confined Spaces, Manual Handling, • Lifting Operations (Appointed Person / Slinger / Banksman), • Understanding of UK Environmental and Waste Management legislation

The role involves testing and commissioning electrical Automation and Control Systems, ranging from minor system modifications to complete new or replacement installations. This position is ideal for an existing Commissioning Engineer or Test Engineer who is keen to develop their site-based commissioning experience. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions, working closely with customers, project teams, and site personnel. You will be based between the Stone Head Office and client sites across the UK, contributing to installation, testing, and commissioning activities while developing your technical and leadership skills within an experienced and supportive team. Key Responsibilities • Carry out Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning activities in line with approved documentation, • Support and perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), • Provide technical supervision of installation works on client sites, • Ensure all installation, testing, and commissioning activities comply with agreed procedures, methods, and standards, • Produce, collate, and manage the project commissioning file, • Control and mark up drawings and schematics following commissioning changes, • Develop and review commissioning and test documentation, • Deploy and verify configuration files to SCADA systems, BCUs, RTUs, PLCs, IEDs, and network devices, • Prepare site equipment and materials for commissioning activities, • Manage commissioning spares and test equipment, • Control Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) in line with safe working procedures and permits, • Carry out fault finding, ensuring issues are documented and resolved Essential Skills & Experience: • Qualification or proven experience in an Electrical Engineering discipline, • Strong understanding of test and commissioning methodologies, • Experience fault-finding electrical and electronic systems, • Ability to read and interpret drawings (GA, schematics, wiring diagrams, etc.), • Understanding of electrical safety and isolation control (LOTO), • Competent with Microsoft Office for technical documentation, • Experience deploying and verifying configuration files to electrical devices, • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team, • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel, • BS7671 18th Edition and C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing, • Experience working on National Grid substations, • Knowledge of Substation Secondary Systems, • Experience with SCADA systems, • Understanding of communication networks and protocols (Ethernet, fibre optic, serial communications, etc.)
