Hemma Social is a new family café and soft play space at 14 Tandy Place, East Village, Stratford, opening around 16–18 November 2026. We are looking for a friendly, practical weekend café all-rounder to look after the floor and help families feel welcome. This is a permanent, part-time role: 12–16 paid hours per week across Saturday and Sunday. Pay is £17.50–£18.50 per hour depending on relevant experience. Exact shifts will be agreed around our soft launch and customer demand. Planned weekend customer hours are Saturday 08:30–18:00 and Sunday 08:30–16:00; individual shifts may include setup and closing time. Paid pre-opening training will be arranged before opening. Your work includes welcoming guests, taking orders and payments, serving food and drinks, clearing tables, washing up, restocking and keeping the café clean. You will help with soft-play family check-in and check-out, follow entry/exit procedures, explain play-space rules, clean and reset toys and play areas, notice hazards and promptly raise customer or safety concerns. Parents remain responsible for supervising their children. You will follow opening and closing checklists and work alongside our cook and barista. The cook owns kitchen prep and the barista owns coffee and smoothies; the owner organises the team and runs the business. We would like to hear from people with hands-on café, table-service or similar customer-service experience who stay calm when busy and enjoy welcoming adults and children.
