Job Title: Pipefitter Location: Glasgow – Govan and Scotstoun – Based on site and must be able to attend a recruitment day in Glasgow. Salary: £38,662.00 (additional shift allowance of 33% may be applicable) Requirements: Trade Papers to be provided when submitting application What you’ll be doing: • Fabricating and installing pipework systems in large and small-bore pipework using different materials (copper, cuni, carbon steel and stainless steel), • Using a range of hand tools & mechanical equipment to cut, bend and weld pipes as well as installation of pipework., • Installing utilities aboard ship i.e. sinks, showers, and toilets, • Install and assemble fittings, valves, and related components according to drawings and specifications., • Collaborate with other trades to ensure the timely and accurate completion of projects., • Adhere to safety regulations and company procedures at all times Essential : • Modern Apprenticeship certificate/Trade Papers (you will be required to provide these papers) and relevant qualifications (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent), • Current knowledge and experience of pipe manufacture, installation, and use of associated equipment, • Strong knowledge of pipefitting techniques, tools, and safety standards, • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications, • Clear understanding of SHE, COSHH and Risk Assessments, • Marine Pipefitting Experience, • Experience in industrial or commercial settings preferred, • Understanding of manufacturing processes Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The Pipefitter team: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pipefitter to join our team in Clyde. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and installing piping systems across a range of projects in the defence sector. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of piping installations while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. Why BAE Systems?
