JOB TITLE: Paralegal (12mth FTC) TEAM: Data HOURS: 9.30 am – 5.30 pm with one hour for lunch, at least 3 days a week working from the London office. RESPONSIBILITIES: To provide paralegal support to the Data team on a wide range of matters in relation to the following: • Undertaking legal and factual research as requested, • Assisting the fee earners with their caseloads and providing support from instruction through to post-trial, • Assisting with preparations necessary to implement AI tools throughout the practice, • Assisting with drafting of documents including attendance notes, contracts, privacy notices, presentations, marketing materials, as well as amending and proof reading, and other document work as required, • Maintaining precedent documents, • Liaising with clients and handling matters with the appropriate sensitivity, where appropriate, • Teamwork, liaison across the firm and across departments., • The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the Firm and the overall business needs. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: • Minimum 2:1 in undergraduate degree as well as having completed the GDL/LPC is preferred, • Experience gained within a law firm is highly desirable, • Computer skills, typing skills, good knowledge of all digital matters, social media, YouTube, web etc., intellectual property, copyright trademarks, • Ability to quickly master new software tools, • Solution oriented and able to take a considered approach in problem solving, • Ability to use initiative and escalate queries to senior lawyers, • Proven ability to act with discretion, maintaining privacy and confidentiality with matters that are sensitive, only sharing information with colleagues on a need to know basis, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • Strong and accurate research and drafting skills, • Meticulous attention to detail, • Ability to be pragmatic, robust and resilient under pressure, • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines, • Ability to organise and prioritise a large volume of work, • Be a self-starter and highly motivated with a positive, can-do attitude, • Effective at building relationships with people both internally and externally to the firm, • A team player who thrives in a busy environment, • Flexible attitude and willingness to take ownership of tasks Our aim is for all staff to feel welcomed at Sheridans and ultimately be their true self at work.
