We're looking for an experienced Barista to lead the floor at our Redchurch Street site - a specialty coffee and matcha destination built around craft, quality, and a fast-paced grab-and-go energy. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows their way around a portafilter and a matcha whisk equally well, and who can run a shift with confidence when the owner isn't on site. What you'll do • Lead daily floor operations - opening/closing, shift coordination, and maintaining our quality and service standards, • Train and support the wider team on coffee and matcha preparation, ensuring consistency across every drink, • Own day-to-day food safety and hygiene standards in line with our FSMS, • Step in for stock checks and basic ordering support alongside our supervisor team, • Be the senior presence on shift - handling customer issues, team questions, and day-to-day problem solving, • Help maintain the energy and standards that make Shoreditch our flagship site What we're looking for • Solid barista experience, ideally with specialty coffee background, • Matcha knowledge a strong plus (training provided if not), • Previous supervisory or shift-lead experience, • Comfortable running a site independently - calm under pressure, decisive, hands-on, • Genuine interest in coffee/matcha craft, not just service, • Reliable, takes ownership, communicates clearly with the team and owners What you'll get • Competitive pay, • A genuinely craft-led environment - we care about quality, not just throughput, • Room to bring your own ideas to the menu and service, • Growth opportunities Based in Shoreditch (E2 7DJ). About the role We are looking for a skilled and motivated barista to prepare high-quality coffee, maintain consistency, and deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced specialty coffee and bakery environment. Key responsibilities • Prepare espresso-based drinks to a high standard, including dialling in, consistency, and timing, • Brew V60 and batch filter coffee according to established recipes, • Maintain coffee quality throughout the day through grind adjustments and calibration, • Provide friendly, efficient customer service, • Process POS transactions accurately using Square, • Keep the bar and service areas clean, organised, and well presented, • Support the front-of-house team during busy periods, • Complete opening and closing procedures, • Assist with stock control and report low inventory, • Follow food safety and hygiene standards, • Taking orders and deliver the drinks to the table Requirements • Previous barista experience in a specialty coffee environment is preferred, • Good understanding of espresso extraction and milk texturing, • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume setting, • Strong communication and teamwork skills, • Excellent attention to detail and consistency, • Positive attitude and willingness to learn, • Availability to work weekends, • Morning and Evening shifts Desirable experience • V60 or other manual brewing methods, • Basic latte art, • Coffee origins and flavour profiles, • Square or similar POS systems

Prepare and serve tea and coffee beverages and assist with the sale and presentation of ready-to-sell bakery products. Maintain a clean, welcoming café environment and provide friendly service to customers.
