This part-time role (20 hours a week) is perfect for someone with energy, enthusiasm, and a keen interest in both chocolate and baking. In this role, you’ll assist in the kitchen with chocolate production, baking, general kitchen duties, and ensuring the thorough cleaning of workspaces and equipment. You’ll also support with product preparation, packaging, and shipping, helping us bring our creations to customers. The role of Sous Chef: - Cooking seasonal classic European cuisine, using quality fresh ingredients, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation, taste, and presentation. - Being an integral part of the wider kitchen management team, helping to run our busy service, ensuring that all company standards are met and maintained. - All aspects of kitchen management including ordering of stock, stock control, people management and development, fostering a culture of teamwork, creativity, and continuous improvement. - Working as part of a professional team within a highly organised, well-equipped kitchen. - Contributing ideas towards seasonal changing menus and weekly specials. What we're looking for in a Sous Chef: - Experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef within a similar kitchen environment and/or hospitality setting. - Excellent knowledge of classical cooking techniques as well as in-depth product knowledge. - Proficient and knowledgeable on all Food Safety and Health \& Safety legislation. - Exposure to back-office procedures including stock control and payroll management would be beneficial. - A track record of people development, or for the right candidate, a strong appetite to enhance and develop those skills. - Can communicate effectively with all departments in the spirit of the company values. - Has the Right to Work in the UK.
