In 2025, we expanded internationally with the opening of Maxime’s, alongside a new Birley Bakery in New York City. We are currently looking for a Barista to join our Birley Bakery team. Vaxx Bakery & Specialty Coffee is looking for a friendly, passionate and energetic Barista to join our team in Battersea. Specialty coffee is at the heart of Vaxx. We travel to coffee origins to source exceptional coffees for our guests and roast our coffee in East London. Our bakery is a natural addition to our coffee journey, bringing together great coffee, fresh bakes and genuine hospitality. Head Barista – Vaxx Bakery & Specialty Coffee Location: Battersea, London Vaxx Bakery & Specialty Coffee is looking for an experienced, passionate and energetic Head Barista to join our team in Battersea. At Vaxx, specialty coffee is at the heart of what we do. We travel to coffee origins to discover and source exceptional coffees for our guests, and roast our coffee in East London. Our bakery complements that journey, bringing together great coffee, freshly baked products and genuine hospitality under one roof. We’re looking for someone who genuinely loves specialty coffee and can lead by example — delivering exceptional quality while helping the team maintain high standards throughout every service. The Role As Head Barista, you’ll take ownership of coffee quality and workflow behind the bar while supporting, developing and training the wider barista team. You’ll be responsible for: • Delivering consistently excellent espresso and milk-based drinks, • Dialling in and monitoring extraction and coffee quality throughout the day, • Producing confident, consistent latte art, • Training, supporting and developing other baristas, • Maintaining an efficient and organised bar during busy services, • Ensuring equipment, cleaning and coffee standards are consistently maintained, • Engaging with customers and sharing knowledge about our coffees in an approachable way, • Working closely with the wider café and bakery team to deliver a great guest experience What We’re Looking For • Strong experience in specialty coffee, • Excellent espresso preparation and milk-texturing skills, • Strong and consistent latte art, • Good understanding of extraction, dialling in and coffee quality, • Experience supporting or training other baristas, • Warm, confident and customer-focused communication, • Calm, organised and proactive during busy services, • Reliable and able to work collaboratively as part of the wider team, • Availability for the shift patterns required by the role, including weekends and early starts We’re looking for someone who takes real pride in their craft and understands that exceptional specialty coffee is about more than what’s in the cup — it’s about quality, consistency, knowledge and hospitality.
