Personal Assistant (PA) – Support for Young Adult with Learning Disabilities Location: Katie’s home, [Glasgow] Hours: Part-time (Flexible shifts available, full-time and part-time.) Start Date: ASAP Pay: [£13.25] About the Role: We are seeking a calm, reliable, and emotionally intelligent personal assistant to support Katie — a bright and affectionate young woman with learning disabilities — in her own home and local community. Katie is non-verbal and thrives on routine, gentle support, and one-to-one care from people who respect her needs and truly see her. She enjoys familiar surroundings, music, and meaningful connection in her own way. This role is about helping Katie live her life with comfort, dignity, and stability. A person-centred and inclusive care package is operated and candidates would find that flexible and rewarding to be involved with Katie. Key Responsibilities: Provide personal care and support with daily routines. Assist with meals, dressing, and hygiene in a respectful, person-centred way. Offer companionship, emotional safety, and gentle guidance. Support simple outings or home-based activities. Katie enjoys going out in the car, bus or train. She always enjoys time at home relaxing on her couch. Maintain consistency and clear communication with the wider care team and Katie’s family. Katie’s family is a big part of her life and takes an active role in supporting her care, wellbeing, and quality of life. The Right Person Will Be: Kind, emotionally aware, and naturally patient. Reliable, responsible, and respectful of professional boundaries. Comfortable working in someone’s private home. Experienced in care or support work (formal training not essential if you’re the right fit). Committed to showing up with care and consistency. Have experience working with non-verbal individuals or sensory needs. Live locally and are familiar with Katie’s area in Glasgow.
