Maintenance Technician (Electrical) \n Temporary to Permanent Position \n London \n £29.45 per hour (Umbrella/CIS) | £43,000 - £45,000 Permanent Salary \n Full-Time | Temp to Permanent Opportunity \n An established and highly prestigious Higher Education organisation is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join its Estates and Maintenance team on a temp-to-perm basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrical professional looking for long-term career stability within a complex and varied building services environment. \n Working as part of a multi-skilled maintenance team, you will be responsible for delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a diverse estate, ensuring critical electrical infrastructure remains safe, compliant, and fully operational. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical plant, equipment and systems.\n, • Diagnose faults and undertake repairs to minimise downtime and service disruption.\n, • Complete maintenance activities in line with statutory regulations and industry best practice.\n, • Update maintenance records and job reports using CAFM systems.\n, • Support project works, equipment replacements and infrastructure upgrades.\n, • Assist with the preparation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).\n, • Maintain high standards of health, safety and compliance.\n, • Provide excellent customer service to building users and stakeholders.\n, • Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors and technical teams.\n\n Essential Requirements \n\n • 18th Edition City & Guilds or NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in an Electrical discipline.\n, • Proven experience maintaining and repairing electrical building services systems.\n, • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.\n, • Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.\n, • Strong communication and customer service skills.\n, • Ability to work independently and as part of a busy maintenance team.\n\n Technical Experience \n Candidates should have experience with a range of electrical systems, including: \n\n • LV power distribution and switchgear.\n, • Single and three-phase electrical systems.\n, • Electrical testing and inspection.\n, • Lighting and emergency lighting systems.\n, • Fire alarm systems.\n, • CCTV and access control systems.\n, • UPS and standby power systems.\n, • Motors, inverters and control systems.\n, • BMS/BEMS systems.\n, • General building services plant and equipment.\n\n If you are a qualified Electrical Maintenance Technician looking for a new challenge with genuine permanent prospects, we'd be keen to hear from you. \n
