SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to be supporting a highly regarded primary school in Redbridge in the recruitment of a specialist Teacher of the Deaf to join their Hearing Impairment Resource Base from September 2026 for the Autumn Term. You'll play a key role in ensuring deaf pupils thrive both academically and socially within a mainstream primary environment. The Opportunity Working within the school's dedicated Hearing Impairment Provision, you'll support a small cohort of pupils across Key Stage 2, delivering specialist teaching while helping children access the wider curriculum alongside their peers. You'll work closely with class teachers, support staff, families and external professionals to create an inclusive learning experience that enables every child to achieve their full potential. Your responsibilities will include: Delivering specialist teaching for deaf pupils within the resource base and mainstream classrooms Planning and adapting lessons to meet individual communication and learning needs Supporting pupils' language, literacy and social development Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to promote inclusion across the school Monitoring progress and contributing to personalised learning plans Building strong partnerships with parents, carers and specialist services We're Looking For Someone Who Has: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A recognised Teacher of the Deaf (TOD) qualification (essential) A minimum Level 2 British Sign Language (BSL) qualification Experience supporting deaf children within a primary setting Excellent knowledge of the primary curriculum A total communication approach and a commitment to inclusive practice Outstanding communication and collaborative working skills Why Join This School?
