About the Role We are looking for a Home Collection Driver to join our growing team. As the face of TRAID on the road, you will be responsible for collecting donations directly from homes and businesses across London. This role is hands-on, physically engaging, and offers plenty of variety - no two shifts are the same, and our donors will rely on your help in lots of different ways. Each day, you’ll be assigned a route with 20 to 35 collections. We’ll invest in you by offering fully paid, comprehensive training to ensure you’re confident in TRAID’s collection systems and procedures. In return, we expect you take pride in your work and consistently strive for excellence. Main Responsibilities: - Collect donations from homes across London as per your scheduled route - Accurately record collection details on a PDA provided by TRAID - Unload the collected items safely and securely at our Alperton Warehouse, always following manual handling guidelines and health and safety policies - Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical upkeep of the company vehicle, reporting any necessary maintenance to your line manager - Provide an energetic and customer-focused approach, aiming to deliver excellent service to donors and ensure a positive experience. This includes answering any questions they may have and calling donors in advance of the collection. Requirements: Experience- 12 months van driving/multi-drop delivery experience preferred (but not essential). Full training will be provided Full UK driving licence - with no more than 6 points and no driving bans in the last 5 years Physical fitness – You will be active, handling donation bags weighing up to 20kg Flexibility – Shifts can vary, so we’re looking for team players with a can-do attitude who are ready to tackle challenges, even on short notice! We are looking for Self-employed Night shift Drivers. Who are you? ● A flexible, motivated, hard working person willing to deliver all of the ingredients that we use to make our delicious pasta across London and outside London. ● You have at least one year of experience as a van delivery driver. ● You have a C1 driving licence and CPC. ● You can adhere to assigned routes and following time schedules. ● No points on licence. ● You are available to work day and night shifts from Monday to Sunday with 2 days off. What you'll do: ● Driving a 7.5 Tonne vehicle in a safe manner, complying with all road traffic, and vehicle legislation. ● You may also be required to drive other company transport when required. ● Driving short and long distances depending on the route. ● Delivering our products across London. We do also operate outside of London which means that we may expect you to travel to places such as Cambridge, Nottingham, Cardiff, Liverpool,... to deliver our pasta meals and ingredients. In addition to having takeaway sites we also deliver to Ocado (Twickenham) and Harrods (Central London). ● Unload the delivery by hand into the kitchen where the team will accept delivery. May need to unload heavy trays. ● Completing delivery paperwork after completing delivery and providing a copy to the person accepting the delivery. ● Maintaining regular communication with route planners. ● Performing vehicle checks at the beginning and end of each journey and reporting all defects. ● Comply with UK Transport regulations. ● Reporting any issue to the relevant person. ● Ensuring the vehicle and stock are properly always secured. The job is simple. Need a porter to help load and unload items onto the van. Two things are very important for this job: 1. SPEED. There will be time spent driving around so you will have time to relax, however, SPEED will be required when its time to load and unload the van. 2. CARE. You will need to take care when lifting furniture to make sure you don't break the furniture or damage client property. You will be required to lift furniture, such as tables, sofas, washing machines etc therefore you will need to be strong enough to do this job. You will be required to lift light furniture such as chairs, bags etc by yourself but you will have someone with you when lifting large furniture. You will be working on a self employed basis, with payment straight after the shift. This is an emergency vacancy, you should be ready to start ASAP.
