Due to our continuing success we are looking for a chef de partie at our neighbourhood's favourite Italian Restaurant based in Harpenden. Previous experience in Italian kitchen is an advantage. For this position we are offering a competitive hourly rate, 28 days of holidays including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and 1st of January. On top of the salary you will receive a generous share of service charge, free meals whilst on duty and discounts to dine at our venues with your family and friends. The Tandoori Chef will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of traditional Indian dishes using the tandoor oven, including marinated meats, breads, and kebabs. This role requires an in-depth understanding of Indian spices, marinades, and tandoor cooking techniques. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, a passion for Indian cuisine, and a commitment to maintaining high culinary standards. Prepare and cook a range of dishes in the tandoor oven, including Tandoori Chicken, Tandoori Lamb Chops, Naan bread, and various kebabs. Marinate meats and vegetables using traditional Indian spices and yogurt-based marinades to ensure rich, authentic flavors. Monitor the tandoor oven’s temperature and adjust as needed to cook dishes perfectly. Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and refine the tandoori section of the menu, introducing new dishes and enhancing existing ones. Experiment with different spices, flavors, and techniques to create unique and innovative tandoori dishes. Quality Control: Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. Regularly taste and adjust seasonings to maintain consistency and flavor in all tandoori dishes. Inspect the freshness and quality of ingredients before use, ensuring that they meet the restaurant’s standards. Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following all food safety and hygiene regulations. Assist in ordering and managing inventory for tandoori ingredients and supplies. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in tandoori cooking techniques and kitchen safety.
Someone who can work at nights from 3am-9am and who will also be prepearing desi style breakfast for the morning.
