Accounts Assistant (Temporary to Permanent)Location: Stockport \n Salary: £30,000 per annum + Bonus Scheme \n Hours: 38 hours per week \n Start Date: Immediate Start Available \n \n The Opportunity: Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Stockport, is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join its finance team on a temporary to permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive finance professional looking to secure a long-term position within a successful SME. Reporting into the finance function, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accuracy across transactional finance processes while contributing to month-end activities and ongoing process improvements. \n \n The successful candidate will be available to start immediately and will thrive within a fast-paced, hands-on environment. \n \n Key Responsibilities:Sales Ledger \n\n • Raising and processing customer invoices\n, • Issuing credit notes\n, • Investigating and resolving invoice queries\n, • Processing online payment transactions\n, • Supporting credit control activities where required\n\n Purchase Ledger \n\n • Processing and coding supplier invoices\n, • Managing supplier queries and maintaining positive supplier relationships\n, • Reconciling supplier statements\n, • Assisting with weekly and monthly payment runs\n\n Banking and Reconciliations \n\n • Supporting daily banking activities\n, • Completing bank reconciliations\n, • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records\n\n Expenses and Credit Cards \n\n • Managing the employee expense process, ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained\n, • Processing and reconciling company credit card transactions\n, • Maintaining supporting documentation and records\n\n Month-End and Reporting \n\n • Assisting with month-end close procedures\n, • Completing ledger and balance sheet reconciliations\n, • Preparing prepayment journals\n, • Supporting financial controls and reporting processes\n\n Additional Support \n\n • Providing finance support across multiple divisions of the business\n, • Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives and finance projects\n\n \n What you need to do now \n \n If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now. \n If this job isn't quite right for you but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion on your career. \n Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
