Lessons are delivered 1-to-1 and in small groups of up to 3 children, primarily with children aged 5–12. This is a freelance contractor role, with regular weekly teaching during term time — typically around 10 teaching weeks per term. Tutors should be able to commit to their agreed weekly slot for the academic year wherever possible. We understand that tutors occasionally have other commitments, so a small amount of deputy/cover teaching is permitted each term. We are looking for tutors who: • Have a relevant degree and/or substantial experience teaching children aged 5–12, • Are enthusiastic about teaching young children, • Are proactive and reflective in their approach, • Can teach effectively both 1-to-1 and in small groups, • Can provide a DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or are willing to obtain one, • Are reliable and able to travel to their assigned teaching location, • Have good communication skills and are comfortable completing brief lesson/reporting requirements Multi-instrumentalists may be particularly well suited to the role.
