We're looking for an experienced and reliable Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This is more than just a cooking position. As one of our senior chefs, you'll play a key role in maintaining kitchen standards and, in the absence of the Kitchen Manager, act as the second-in-command, helping lead the team and ensuring service runs smoothly. The Role As a Line Cook, you'll be responsible for preparing and cooking food to company standards while maintaining speed, consistency and presentation during busy services. You'll support the Kitchen Manager with day-to-day operations, supervise junior kitchen staff when required and ensure all food safety and hygiene procedures are followed. Kitchen Management Support • Assist with stock counts and inventory management., • Notify management when stock levels are running low., • Receive and organise deliveries., • Support ordering where required., • Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed correctly. Food Safety & Compliance • Maintain excellent food hygiene and HACCP standards., • Ensure kitchen cleaning schedules are completed., • Follow all company health and safety procedures., • Maintain a clean and organised workstation at all times. We are seeking a part-time or full-time chef who can • make and plate our complex crepes (an esthetic eye is crucial; prior experience making crepes is not required for a candidate with several years of professional chef experience, but would be a plus), • make other dishes - omelettes, salads, etc and potentially expand into a broader French evening menu, • interact with guests, • maintain the highest hygiene and health and safety standards Prior experience making crepes or native/fully fluent French would significantly differentiate you as a candidate. Compensation will include significant allocation of tronc in addition to the hourly rate (an additional £2-4 per hour on average) We are a small place with an open kitchen so an ability to interact with guests and multi-tasking are essential, so is the ability to work in a small team.
