Activity Coordinator- 24 hours per week

Responsibilities:

•To plan on going weekly activity rotas in conjunction with the resident’s wishes, and encourage residents to maintain pre-existing hobbies & participate with new ones.

•To assess individual needs continuously, particularly with regard to possible rehabilitation

•To assist the Home Manager in planning the homes special events such as summer fetes, coffee mornings, etc.

•Plan daily/weekly and monthly programmes

•Ensure the Home has a selection of appropriate activity materials available at all time ready for planned programmes

•To formulate an activity profile for each individual service user through liaison with care staff

The Right Person

•Have previous experience working with older people and those living with dementia

•You must be able to speak, read and write •English fluently

•Have a caring and compassionate attitude

•Have an outgoing personality with a sensitive sense of humor

•Be able to encourage residents to take part in appropriate activities

•Be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

•Be able to organise and prioritise workload

•Be able to make responsible choices and decisions, while acting in the resident’s best interest
