Summary of the role • Greet and meet guests at the deli desk., • Present our deli and coffee, provide relevant information to our guests (food allergies, portions, various upselling and add-ons)., • Preparing and serving beverages, ranging from simple to elaborate ones., • Inform guests about our specials and any dishes or drinks that we are currently promoting., • Offer hot drinks or deli recommendations upon request., • Up-sell in both deli (pastry and cakes) and beverages., • Take accurate orders., • Taking accurate payments from customers., • Communicate efficiently with the Front of House and managers., • Maintaining inventory and equipment by cleaning and recording any defects., • Check your crockery and area for cleanliness and presentation and report any issues., • Arrange barista and deli settings, maintaining a tidy section., • Keeping the work environment safe, sanitary, and organized., • To respect the Allergen standards laid out by the law and Chez Antoinette standards., • Participate in team briefings and have a keen interest in the daily life of the restaurant., • Follow all relevant Health and Safety regulations and policies., • Provide excellent customer service to guests. Requirements • Previous experience in high paced environment, • Previous barista experience (Espresso machine)

This job role requires someone with minimum one year barista experience. Responsible and have the ability to make all coffees and speciality drinks on the menu at a high standard. Because we are based at a railway station the team will be required to make drinks with speed and quality with great customer service. This role requires to open the shop and close the shop, there will be always 2 members of staff on site during busy periods.

UPSELLING & PRODUCT KNOWNLEDGE - UNDERSTANDING THE CUSTOMERS MOOD & INTENT Listen carefully to cues: Are they in a rush, chatty, curious or hungry ? Recommended add ons such as non dairy milks, extra shots, syrups or food pairings Proactively recommend pastries, retail coffee or drink upgrades based on customer prefence. Learn flavour profiles, bean origins and seasonal items and confidently describe them. Encourage costumers to try new things through tasting or limited free offers DAILY SHOP OPERATIONS -Open and close the shop efficiently, folling prep and cleaning checklists. -Keep the cafe tidy, well stocked and looking beautiful -Keep customer seating and service tidy, safe & welcoming. -Restock coffee beans, milk, condiments and other supplies as needed. -Maintain hygienic practices at all times (including personal hygiene and food safety) -You consistently maintain a clean and organised workstation, whether you are behind the machine, at the counter or handling dishes -You understand and follow hygiene practices (washing hands, sanitising surfaces, prper food handling) without needing to be reminded -You alwasy leave the coffee machine and bar tidy at the end of the shift, and you jump in to clean up even when its not "your mess" • You treat the cafe like your home, from polishing glassware to folding cloths properly., • TEAM & CULTURE, • -Work closely with other staff (including family) to support each other throughout shifts, • -Communicate openly about stock needs, customer feedback or team tasks, • -Contribute to a positive, respectful environment, bring energy and humour to the team., • -Be flexible and jump in to help wherever needed (kitchen, floor, dishwashing, restocking), • -Can stay cool under pressure, know hoe to move quickly without sacrificing quality or cleanliness., • -You are reliable and you show up on time.
