Directing early arrivals to the bar as they wait for their tables to become available. Ushering diners to their tables and providing them with menus. Accepting and informing the relevant staff about food and beverage requests. Mixing and pouring beverages, as needed. Transporting food orders from the kitchen to each pertinent table.
We are looking for a hardworking, personable Kitchen Porter with a good standard of English, able to lift and carry items where required and available to work long hours when needed, primarily to assist in the running of the back of house operations as well as assisting the event team in set up and general light food preparation duties. Responsibilities include: washing of plates, glass, and cutlery Cleaning of kitchen areas waste Management assist in light chef duties assist other back of house porter duties in the moving and set up of events assist with special functions and other areas of service where necessary
Preparing the food for cooking Keeping up with industry trends and creating new recipes with the Sous Chef Reviewing the menu and doing inventory Following the budget set by the Restaurant Manager Ordering food for the kitchen Monitoring food production and food and staff costs Training staff Managing relationships with distributors and resolving any issues with vendors, promptly Ensuring standard portions and quality of dishes Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and ensuring sanitation practices in the kitchen
Grinding and brewing coffee Developing and maintaining expert knowledge of coffee and educating clients and colleagues about these coffees Consistently providing well-crafted, beautifully presented and tasty beverages Taking client orders and receiving payment Speaking and interacting with both new and regular customers Maintaining a clean and sanitised working environment Following health and safety guidelines Regularly performing stock checks in the coffee bar and placing new orders Following recipes and presentations for food and beverage items, if needed Being aware of and following operational policies and procedures Being punctual and maintaining regular and consistent attendance The ability to work flexible hours and shifts which may include early mornings, late nights, weekends and bank holidays Contributing to a positive work environment
